That was with a VQ35DE too.

I'm all about being the Guinea Pig at times but this isn't my cup of tea. I appreciate the whole naturally Aspirated thing but one thing is for sure...

With all the cars and even more bikes I've owned.... I've had very few positive experiences with digging into the block. I've spun bearings, overheating issues through the gazzoo, thrown valves, etc etc. My neighbors son built a newer model camaro, spent $16K on an engine build and what a pc of sh#$

I'm sure if anyone can do it, GTM can be trusted but I'm much more of a bolt on kind of guy. These things are bulletproof from the factory, pulling it apart to pop in bigger pistons takes a bigger man then me. Owning the pc of crap Ferrari with only 1200 miles makes me even more paranoid, I'm still paying for the repairs on that thing and I sold it nearly a year ago

Crazy how cheap it is though...would be interesting.:ugh2:

vipor 01-21-2010 04:28 PM

yeah probably 10k out the door if you didn't pull the guy out yourself. maybe a lil more, but not much.

motoextreme 01-21-2010 04:37 PM

I pulled the trigger on painting a new car...that's enough gambling for me for a while.

Honestly though...$10K for a Stroker vs maybe $13-14K for a nice turbo system. I'd personally opt for the Turbo. Have to figure these motors already run warm, I'm no engineer but I'd think the Turbo is a more reliable bet.

Pretty sure I'm going to start a fight on that one though...HAHA

vipor 01-21-2010 04:47 PM

since noone has really gutted a VHR yet i think you'll be safe

Ryan@IP 01-21-2010 05:06 PM

Just wanted to pop in and congratulate you on a job well done! It definitely takes a risk to try a unique paint color on any new car, and your gamble paid off! Surely there are some photographers out there looking to get this in a magazine or some other feature?

motoextreme 01-21-2010 05:23 PM

Had a couple people mention a few things but nothing solid just yet. I really don't care if it makes it in Mag's or not, had my of my GSXR's get into a bike magazine so the novelty wore off a bit.

I heard they are looking for a few cars for the next Fast & Furious and it happens that our CEO is close to one of the producers (I had dinner with the guy a few months back and surprised he was an older guy). I've since learned that they beat the piss out of the cars so I may pass on that too even if the option arises.

Either way, thanks for the props man, can't wait to get her out of the garage when this storm passes! All the best, Adam.

PS. If a Mag option does come up, I'll use it to bump our Sponsors and the board of course. Owe you guys big time for all the help and advice since the incept of this project.

Jason 01-21-2010 06:22 PM

sick car man. everything looks great!

The action cars are beaten badly, but getting your car into one of the background scenes might be good. :D

motoextreme 01-21-2010 06:52 PM

Yeah, that would be cool.

I'm pushing for the magazine thing. That way I can payback some of these guys for all the quick shipping, good deals and that sort or thing. Those Magazine articles are awesome for shops, really put My Moto shop on the radar for a while and the damn magazine was from Italy. Couldn't imagine what a Cycle World or Motorcyclist mag would of done.

That would be good, magazines last forever and get a lot of respect in the community. F&F...not so much. :shakes head:

motoextreme 01-21-2010 07:19 PM

I'm with you for certain. Anyone that watches them for anything more then the cars and girls is .... well, you know...

I admit, I'm one of the first to see them as I love cars but wow does the acting suck at times.

Acting was one thing, but when they just get things wrong it got me laughing.
Just try to work a scene into the movie where you race a new Camaro & Mustang and it takes a left turn and they both spin out. ;)

Hint: The left turn plays on the American past time racing event, and the fact the Camaro & Mustang are beaten to death for not being track cars.

Nissan 370Z Z34 2009-2010 JD Carbon Fiber Engine Cover : eBay Motors (item 220493222431 end time Feb-07-10 19:37:09 PST)

motoextreme 01-21-2010 10:25 PM

Thanks man. I knew I had seen one somewhere, it was ebay. 500 huh..? I've bought two things from Ebay lately and both were wrong and I couldnt get my $ back.

I'm keeping this link and I'll give it some thought. Thanks again bro.

motoextreme 01-21-2010 11:53 PM

I think I have a very well known supplier that will make me one if they use my car so I may be all set.

Win win... Get to hook my buddy Phelan up with my red one that he wants so bad and I may get a deal by using my car as the model. If not, I'll look up this Ebay guy. Thank you

G Fo12ce 01-23-2010 02:05 PM

Moto,
I know an editor at D Sport and a few guys at Source Interlink (Import Tuner/Modified/Super Street). If there is a certain mag you like or are shooting for let me know. Maybe I can you set it up.

Also let me know when you guys get together again at Amplified or whatever. Maybe I can make it by.

Did YOU say BBQ? Lol

Will be sure to make it, this time Lou!

motoextreme 01-24-2010 12:32 AM

First, looking forward to the BBQ

G Fo.. sorry, don't know what to call you but ANYTHING you can do would be huge! I'm dropping off my roadster tomorrow so they can start on cutting the frame for the turbo'd motor and taking the body to the paint shop late next week. We're going to try and knock this car out in 2 months!!! Soo...I'm going to do whatever I can do get a mag to write up something on both the 350HP 1900 lb roadster at the same time as the Nismo. The Nismo is going to get a couple of things not available just yet and a full turbo system, worked the deal today. So again, anything you can do to help get it in a mag, I'll make it up to you!

I've been dropping hints about something I'm working on.. Can't go into details just yet but I need this Z and Roadster to get some press to help it. I have some help from some Celeb's that owe me a favor and will help too.

Should be pretty exciting...stay tuned!!

G Fo12ce 01-24-2010 10:09 AM

G FO12CE = G FORCE lol. 12 makes an R ;)

Those titles have a mildly different theme. All import mags but some are less technical and geared toward gerneral coverage of the car. Others focus a little more on the performance/tech.

I sent you a PM, I gave you a couple angles before I email anyone for you.

MPD47 01-24-2010 10:49 AM

Wow, your car looks incredible! I may have missed it, are you guys going to finish the hood in matte/satin?

NYBladeZ 01-24-2010 11:20 AM

$500, for a cf engine cover...makes me all that much happier I got it for free

NYBladeZ 01-24-2010 11:34 AM

http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/c...9/DSC01104.jpg

really compliments the engine bay, I think you can find it for cheaper that the $500 on ebay imo

motoextreme 01-24-2010 01:04 PM

I may have a line in on one, working out a deal right now.

As far as the Matte question, nope.. The hood center is gloss, roof gloss and rear has a gloss frame, hard to explain without seeing it but it came out really nice imo of course.

Thanks for the heads up on the motor cover, I'm going to get one just need to lend my cover to a carbon guy for a week and it should be close to free :)

Mostly under the hood mod's bro. Dont with the looks, time to bump up the power a bit and perhaps a few interior mods. Nothing too crazy.

I had a chrome dragon sticker for the sides but I decided to go with a naked lady in armor instead :)

phelan 01-24-2010 01:22 PM

classy Adam, classy. rofl

god i'm really itching for my parts to come in...hurry up Japan... ><

motoextreme 01-24-2010 03:11 PM

Hate to say it but exhaust has to go...too low and impossible to park without hitting. oh well...need to find something else that sounds good and tucks up better.

NYBladeZ 01-26-2010 01:05 PM

I'm guessing its the Stillen exhaust, let me know when you want to let it go if it's in good condition I might want to pick it up
