i knew from the start i wanted to make this my comp car so i did not get one that was fully loaded. i drove it like this over the summer and when winter rolled around thats when tear down started
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...5b48662e21.jpg |
first 2 things i knew i had to cover is the yaw sensor and abs i went ahead and wired in switches so i can cut power to the yaw sensor and abs unit whenever i wanted to.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b4800091b5.jpg next i went ahead and dropped out the rear end and trans http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...78e4a25227.jpg i ended up putting in a south bend 6 puck clutch and the z speed slave and new oem master. and for the rear end i went with a kaaz 2.0 way diff and a nice z1 diff cover http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...bfcdb0fcf1.jpg unfortunately i never took pics of the clutch install
|
after fighting with the SPL solid diff bushings i finally got the diff back inhttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8d881d52b6.jpg next i ran the lines for the ASD stand alone hydro with the help of maverick motorsports so i can mount dual rear calipers http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...9b55ffd92d.jpg after i fitted the hydro were i liked it i went and rewired the car and took out some more interior panels little by little along with the sound deadning http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a577914f8a.jpg

seat is in for a test fit. once i get everything how i want it then i will start to build the cage around what i want. its better to make the cage around you then to make the cage first and then try to adapt to somthing that you dont feel comfortable in...if that makes sense haha http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...5cc0bfd312.jpg

i found that building a car like this brings out all types of people some that love it and some that think you are an idiot for "destroying" a perfectly good car. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...05890e0cda.jpg i am building this car for me. i always wanted a nice slide car that looks badass and is just an overall fun car i don't care how much money im dumping in to it and how much money im going to lose. don't let others build your car...on that note...say bye bye to the ac, blower motor and heater core.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...38acae470b.jpg

https://vimeo.com/163969160 well we had a cook out at work on Friday so i decided to take out the z to have a little fun found out i could not do a standing burn out and was pretty upset. found out our cars have a safety feature where if you press both the gas and break then it dies down the car. so i went and decided to take care of that problem and wired in a switch with a inline fuse for the brake lamp now i can do standing burnouts all day!! haha this is a clip from last night having a little fun in the parking lot at work. sorry for my video quality

little update on the car. started tear down #2 to finally finish the car. hopefully i will get some pics of the process of things. right now im prepping the car so i can make a custom front bash bar and core support, also making a rear bash bar and finally going to do the cage! along with all that im going to be putting in a differnt radiator, custom fan setup, oil cooler, diff cooler and redoing the whole fuel system to get rid of that nasty fuel issue we all havehttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...abebe49f74.jpg
|
so as we all know the z is notorious for fuel starve. i know there is a kit out that is a tank setup. but i have also read on forums that this set up does not always fix this issue 100%. now i am not bashing on his product at all. i just want to try my own setup that i thought of. so this is what i got so far.
2 hydramats from holley one on each side of the tank that are connected with a T joint into the walbro 255 that i had in the tank, from their it is pumped in to a MAP surge tank with 2 walbro 450's that pumps to a radium fuel regulator then to a cjm fuel rail that is hooked up to injector dynamics 1000cc injectors and a return line that follows back to the surge tank and then to the fuel tank. this setup should be good for 1000hp for later applications ;) here is a crappy pic of the surge tank before install. i will get some pics after i run all the new lines http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...0f553ef487.jpg Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk |

hey guys i relocated my battery and ended up 3D printing a little junction box cover thingy along with making a bracket to mount to the firewall. im posting this to find out if anyone would be intrested in buying something like this i did a lot of searching to see what people did and 99% of you just put the stock red cover on it and tip tied it away. not only is that extreamly ugly but its also unsafe. so if i can get some people who would like to see me make these then i would be more then happy to sell them. also the top of the box is removable to easily disconnect everything http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...23e4bb14fd.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...4585bf0de9.jpg

When you wired up switches for the brake lamp and abs which wire did you tap into? I already wired up a switch to the yaw sensor and have that working perfectly.
