hey hotrodz,
custom roll bar, seats, harnesses, and some "light" dremel work :yum: |
Sweet, you are going to like how the roll bar stiffens up the car!

I'm not gonna lie, I'm more excited to not have to hold myself in place with the steering wheel/brace myself while pulling 1.3+ lateral g in the stock cabin setup.
Chassis stiffening is a definite bonus though. |
LMAO, yeah a harness makes a huge difference. You can actually concentrate on driving instead of holding on!

Anyone have any recommendations on light-weight batteries?
|
Question for you track guys are any of you running a oil spacer? aam or jwt, say for like oil starvation at track and extra oil etc.

Thanks for the info Cooltoy. I'll check it out.
As far as the oil pan spacer, I'm not running one. I'd rather save a little more and pick up the CJM baffled oil pan and be done with it. That way I can run increased capacity, add a little bit of cooling, and be able to run stickier tires without the risk of oil starvation. |
There are a bunch of other recommendations in that thread. If you want, I could search them all for you.
|
That thread is huge! thats a really generous offer, cooltoy! a lot of the things they're doing in that thread would eliminate the streetability of my car. even buying a lightweight battery would just be a swap in for track days, so I could use my OEM battery on the road.
My build has always been tailored for backroads, I just recognize the value of seat time in a closed environment with a certified instructor. |
It's not the a big of a deal, I will search it as time permits.

UPDATES:
Car is back from MA motorsports. The rollbar is a work of art. I can already feel an increase in rigidity! Wedge engineering brackets installed and modified (slightly) by the experts at MA. Currently running Sparco Ergo drivers seat with an Evo 2 passenger seat, held in place by a pair of Schroth Profi 2 ASM 6 point harnesses. Sure, there are better options, but once again, this car is a dual purpose machine! Huge thank you to Daelen and the guys at MA Motorsports for finishing my car way ahead of schedule while coming up with bomb-proof solutions for my application! 10/10! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9414b0c29a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...99d719a3f6.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...79f0b2bc04.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just stumbled into this thread today looking for roll cage options. This setup looks amazing! Are you going to be dressing it back up or leaving it stripped? In for pics and how to's on getting it blended back into a more stock look.
|
I'm going to leave it how it is. I havent decided whether or not to reinstall the headliner.

I'll post pictures soon with the new interior look |
Right on!!! For now I have not touched the front portion of the car. The wife will ask me from time to time if I'm going to gut the whole car. I say not but maybe in the future and she will shake her head and close the door to the garage.
