Broxx's '15 Nismo Build Thread
So I've decided to create a build thread for my 2015 Nismo. It won't be too over the top because I enjoy my factory warranty but there are quite a few things I have in mind!
To start off: 2015 370z Nismo Tech - Pearl White Options: - 7A/T - Illuminate kick plates - Nismo floor mats After a week of purchasing the modding began. First up on the list was window tint. I went with 30% all around. I've had 5, 20 and 35 in the past but I wanted to keep this one as legal as possible. Pics: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5831/...463ca83c_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/727/2...99952a5c_b.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5759/...41ab6bb3_b.jpg Up next I ordered the Mower Axle front plate mount. With a lot of driving in downtown Chicago I didn't want to risk being ticketed for no front plate. Easily unscrews leaving no trace it was there. Pics: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5699/...b8e4de93_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/697/2...31025219_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/724/2...e0770fe8_b.jpg Next I did a full interior, cool white, LED conversion, along with corner markers and license plate light. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it ATM. Along with the LED lights, I upgraded the HID bulbs to a Morimoto 5000k. Purchased from TheRetrofitSource. Driver side is the 5000k with LED corner marker, passenger is OEM 4300k with amber corner marker https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5658/...8d228459_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/640/2...a78e8928_b.jpg As many Nismo owners know, when driving at highway speeds or even around town the cabin gets quite loud. After doing some digging I went ahead and wrapped the hatch, hatch lid and door panels with Ballistic sound deadening sheets to reduce road noise. Although it does not completely eliminate it, it is a noticeable improvement. Pics: https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5794/...a5e108d2_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/650/2...4ac886d0_b.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5757/...a3f75bb0_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/705/2...a61c9024_b.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5700/...c6530f85_b.jpg That is currently everything as of right now. I am waiting for a few more parts to arrive, my Stillen Gen 3 intake and Tein Street Flex coil overs along with an EDFC Active PRO electronic dampening. I'll post back when more progress is made  In the meantime, here are some shots from a little shoot I did in downtown Chicago. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/573/2...b54bfe26_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/766/2...e413f221_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/721/2...11f52e70_b.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5769/...948025e4_b.jpg |
I like the sound matting, would love to do it on my 15, just to reduce it a little bit on the highway. Where did you get it and how much did you have to order?

I purchased the Ballistic wrap from BestBuy. I used 2 trunk kits (10 pieces of 12"x24") about $150 each. I ended up having some left so I did inside the fenders as far as i could get my hand and then the hatch lid as well. |
Your Nismo really is so Cool and every time I see one this Clean it makes me Drool..lolol

Looking good and nice mods so far. Keep us up to date on things.

Nice start!

nice work thus far !

A little update, coilovers are opened and will be on in a week or so. Ill post pics of them tomorrow.
Went ahead and wired the DRL LED's to be on whenever the car turns on https://farm1.staticflickr.com/731/2...6246b341_b.jpg https://farm1.staticflickr.com/728/2...acaf426d_b.jpg |
A little late but the coilovers are put on. The ride is exactly what I wanted. Smoother ride in the city, compared to the stiff Nismo suspension. I currently drive around in the "auto" mode, which automatically adjusts the dampening depending on the change in G force. So how hard I accelerate/decelerate and corner. I haven't had time to set all the custom presets. All in all I am beyond pleased with this set up. It's not extremely expensive, slightly cheaper than KW V3's but I love the ability to fine tune everything on the fly or just let the computer do everything itself.
I've been super busy so I don't have any good pics showing the drop. Here are a few pics of my Tein products though. Tein Street Flex https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5680/...26c9df6c_b.jpg Tein EDFC Active Pro controller https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5797/...d0367020_b.jpg Dampening Motors that mount on top of the struts https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1471/...3cf25297_b.jpg And this beast that was in the shop I went to. 900hp Zilla, full carbon body. Awaiting rear quarter panels https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5765/...52b0d78b_b.jpg |
Stillen Gen 3's arrived as well. Should be put on within the next couple of days
|
A few more pics of the set up. I'm lowered a little under an inch in the front and rear
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5748/...83f4a076_b.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5784/...cfc2fc0d_b.jpg |
Installed the stillen gen 3s last night as well

I wanted to add a little Carbon Fiber to the Nismo so instead of paying hundreds for a roof cap I decided to wrap it in VViViD Vinyl TechArt Gloss Carbon Fiber. It looks awesome during the day. Ill post more pics tomorrow of the vinyl up close. Up next is EvoR CF mirror caps.

Your car looks great! What shop did you use for the spring install? The shop I was using in Chicagoland (Project X Customs) closed so I might need another sometime.

P&L did amazing work, especially since I had the EDFC unit and controller installed too. All said and done they charged me a beyond reasonable price, even after a 4 wheel alignment. I 100% recommend them |
I'm looking for a little feedback from you guys on this one. The plastic on my front bumper was starting to fade so I decided to wrap it in gloss CF.
Try to ignore my crapy cut lines but what do you guys think? Debating if I should keep it or go Gloss black instead. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1598/...efae39df_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1512/...0c84b43b_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1539/...860e5925_h.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5709/...4d541aab_b.jpg |

Love the Z bro. I have a 2011 Nismo and wanted to do the roof in the same vinyl but looking online idk which one is right. I see so many different prices and not sure if some are real or fake. What site did you get yours?

It is called the black carbon TechArt |
Still waiting on TPMS to get here so I won't have the new wheels mounted until probably Tuesday.
In the mean time, caught a crazy warm front today and took advantage of it. The last few days with the CV5's https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1503/...b8a5ef0f_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1615/...0b80d2c5_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1666/...e70377a3_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1675/...e4c63311_b.jpg |
Well i ended up receiving faulty TPMS sensors. I purchased my old ones back and they will be here Saturday. I'm hoping I can get it over to the shop and have them mounted. This wait is killing me lol.
In the mean time here are a couple more pics of the new wheels https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1549/...50ce6e52_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1641/...48737f97_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1477/...2467b98e_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1484/...c0d17b8a_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1694/...a370b454_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1697/...2d303e1b_b.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1479/...4a4a13da_b.jpg |
That's kind of funny that you had to buy your own sensors back. But I guess it worked out well for both you and Gerg.

All in all, I wont have to pay to have them reprogrammed lol  |

THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER!!!!
You are looking at the WORLD'S FIRST 2015 Nismo sitting on Vossen VFS1 in a 20x9.5+25 and 20x12+30. The fit is spot on. I wanted them to sit somewhere in between aggressive and flush and they ended up pretty close. Later on I might try to trim the edges on the flares, get a small spacer to poke them out a little more and lower it a tad. For now though it sits just how I wanted. Overall I am completely impressed with this set up. I owe a huge thank you to the Vossen team and Diego in particular for making this happen. Later on I'll post a review about the Nitto NT555 G2's.
I am running a 255/35 and 305/30. So far they are pretty quiet and handle really well. I'll be able to judge on them more when it warms up here in the Midwest. |
