I purchased my Z in May '14. The Z was originally the shop car for Akuma Motorsports in NJ. I have a lot of plans for her and ultimately want to go FI. Still on the fence if I want to go Turbo or Supercharger. I will be doing a lot of research to decide which route I go.
The day I bought my Z Attachment 109358 Attachment 109359 Now onto the modifications in the order of purchase/installation Custom brace fabricated by Akuma Motorsports, originally purple but I re-powdercoated it red Attachment 109360 Tinted all the windows 5% Attachment 109368 GT-R start button Attachment 109363 TK hebi bebi Attachment 109364 BC-BR coilovers Attachment 109366Attachment 109367 I just acquired a set of Stillen G3 intakes. I have not installed them yet due to painting them wrinkle black. Attachment 109369 More to come! |
Since I don't have any performance mods yet, I am taking the Z to a local shop today to get a baseline dyno. I will post the results this afternoon.

Nice start!

Looking good, congrats on the new home.

Thanks guys! I just got back from getting a baseline dyno. I have to say, I was not expecting to see very good numbers but I ended up with 294 WHP and 240 TQ. Not too bad for completely stock. Now let the modding begin!

Stillen G3's finally installed... After a long battle with the wrinkle paint I decided to go with a flat black.

Just wanted to give you guys an update since it has been a while... Deployed life... Just purchase a set of SPL rear camber arms. Also wanted to thank Mike @ SPL for hooking me up with an awesome price on the camber arms. Can't wait to get back to the states to install them.
Now I just need to find a shop that can do an alignment on my car. Seems that there are no shops in the Charleston SC area that can align lowered cars. If anyone on here in the Chucktown area can recommend anyone, that would be great. I have a few more parts on my want list that I am trying to buy while I am deployed, I just have to convince the wife. #1 on the list right now is a FI CBE & test pipes. :driving: |
I am finally back in the states from my deployment. This weekend I was able to install my SPL rear camber arms. These things are solid and glad I went with these arms.
Here they are installed. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...95eac688c2.jpg I also have the toe bolts but I will have to tackle that next weekend. |
Washed the Z today, man she looks good! Next mod is definitely going to be 20/25 mm spacers though.

Thank you sir. Little by little my Z is coming along. Spacers and test pipes are next. Then I will be taking my Z to a local shop for an EcuTek tune. Can't wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

So I had the raise up the Z after the FI CBE install, these cans hang super low! But I think I got it to the right height now. I put the apex of the fender arch at 26" (I was at 25"). This height seems right on point, I have not scraped anything yet, even on the speed bumps around here. Also just put on a fresh coat of wax, so I had to get a photo of the Z looking fresh out in the sun!

Took the Z to a local dyno day event. I wanted to see where I'm at after the G3s and FI CBE.
Ended up with almost 304 rwhp and 244 ft/lbs tq. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...010bb67fe4.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...6a69510432.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f462f7e61e.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...f43ba04255.jpghttps://vimeo.com/195136791https://vimeo.com/195136888 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Haha! Trust me, if it was up to me I would have poured ~$20-30K into my Z by now..... For now it's a slowww build.

Thanks!
For they price bro, the BCs are hard to beat. The build quality is top notch and the ride is very good as well. The first set they sent me came without springs. Their customer service worked quickly and resolved the issue. I had the correct set of coils within a week. Hope this helps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Thanks bro, u made my decision easier I'm getting the swift upgrade not sure wat spring rate I don't track just a street car.

I dig it...

Finally got around to installing my head unit and backup camera... still trying to figure out where I want to mount my mic, I'm not a fan of the typical A pillar location. I was thinking about mounting it inside the cubby.

looking good.
what are those wheels on the black one? |

Thanks! I like it because it is different. Don't see many Zs with a custom brace Quote:
Thanks Z-Girl, I love my TK! I even have a 2nd one just in case this one gets messed up lol Quote:
Thanks! The black cherry Z has OEM GT-R wheels w/20mm spacers on all 4 corners. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well I finally got around to mounting my mic... after a lot of debating I decided to put it in the OEM location, surprisingly it wasn't too difficult.

Ha! That's awesome man! I've been looking for a spot to put mine and never would've thought of that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah I was never a fan of the typical A pillar location. I thought this location was going to be difficult to do but it was super easy. I suggest you try mounting yours in the same location. Looks completely OEM. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

How hard was it to install the red brace bar? is there a DIY that I missed on here?
|
Quote:
I do not believe there is a DIY... But if you have any mechanical ability, the install is pretty straight forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Quote:
I have some mechanical abilities.. only if there's step by step instructions for me to follow LOL. I'm not one to randomly pull things apart. Your car looks great btw Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Quote:
Thanks! Honestly, the brace is super easy to remove/install. Just remove the plastics and there are a few bolts on each side and it slides right out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
