What's the gray plastic piece underneath the front bumper called?

The piece that connects directly to the front bumper that serves as a "guard" of sorts. Mine has taken one too many impacts and doesn't look so hot anymore.

Is it a splitter? Lip? What are the options for the nismo bumper. Anyone know?

Also if there are aftermarket options that look cool/unique, I'm open to suggestions.

Gotta pay for the mold somehow.

dmhenderson 10-11-2014 07:24 PM

I don't even care that it's scraped up but it's not fitting right because the little bracket things that attached it to the bumper are busted.
I remember people saying that the undershroud was $1100 or some thing and then it was "oh no, that was a mistake, it's $100" That undershroud is a much larger piece than that thing.

I bought a Zspeed undertray and I'm getting a cf splitter from 1cleanz. The total cost is less than the oem undertray!

dmhenderson 10-14-2014 12:57 PM

I have the zspeed undertray thing already. You can get the OEM undershroud for around $100 now. Nissan claimed it was a "pricing error". Funny that lower fascia scrape guard is still $400. The CF splitter replaces the piece I'm talking about right? Wonder if there's one that fits the nismo

If I'm reading his Facebook page right, think it does, or at least that is what I'm hoping for!

dmhenderson 10-14-2014 01:20 PM

Still, carbon on that long-*** front bumper is just asking for trouble. Wet carbon I assume? What are you paying if you don't mind my asking.

I think it's $350 or $375 or so. I'm hoping it not much longer or else I'm in trouble.

dmhenderson 10-14-2014 06:45 PM

That's the same as the OEM piece and much more fragile

I guess I will find out...sorry I wasn't any help and there are not any other cheaper solutions.

dmhenderson 10-15-2014 09:38 PM

Nah it's fine. Thanks for trying. It's just confusing

I know its not the same thing but what do you think about a skid plate from Lohit over at fly1?? It does basically the same job for half the money and it looks a lot better

dmhenderson 10-15-2014 10:03 PM

Does it fit the nismo bumper? What hw is required?

nomodsjk 10-15-2014 10:12 PM

He can make them to fit anything. Forgive my ignorance but hw?

nomodsjk 10-15-2014 10:13 PM

Oh hardware! Self tapping screws

nomodsjk 10-15-2014 10:15 PM

Although I'm sure you could use other means. That would ultimately be up to you. He uses the self tappers so if something happens the screws break loose without taking your bumper with it

i call mine "that thing that ripped off almost immediately"
