I like long walks on the beach and playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive regularly. I am a recovering World of Warcraft addict - playing mostly one character for the better part of 7 or so years and still own the account. Don't play now, but there are times when it is rough to resist the temptation. I am a pre-ordered subscriber of Star Citizen and am anxiously awaiting the build and release of the alpha, beta, and release of that game.

I read a somewhat unruly amount of comic books. I can go into detail but I'm not sure how nerdy you really want this to get.

I work in IT - currently for Dell as a federal contractor for NIH NIAID as an enterprise storage administrator. I also build my own computers because I was told that was the only way to do it.

I do believe everything I read on the internet but I am not a french model. I currently own a few internets myself - and I have it on great authority that if you Google, Google, you can break the internet. So, let's just be safe and trust me on this one.

I know a few languages: English, C#, JAVA, BASIC, and PHP. I can also understand many more including but not limited to a vague understand of Espainish-o and ASP.NET.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who know binary and those who do not. Lastly, to understand recursion, one must first understand recursion.

Good day!

Good day!

Probably my favorite comments yet. so many lulz.

I like the idea of intros...

I work in IT as well, not really expanded to much due to age but have done everything up to a Helpdesk Analyst III. Also Linux+ A+ Net+ Security+ certified. I'm well versed with Linux, Mac, Windows.

I build my own PC's. Done about 8(?) gaming PC builds. So far all are still alive and kicking.

Played and practiced professionally in Halo 3 and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.

Back in the day I used to compete professionally in Quake 3 Arena. That was my sh1t lol.

I became totally immersed in online play since the Sega Dreamcast came out. Who remembers playing on that thing using 56k modem. Back then if your ping was ~150 you were considered godly.

I remember when I got DSL in '95...yes I was 4. But my god Napster and Kazaa were able to download music faster than the dickens. I always remember playing Flight Simulator when I was a kid at least on PC. Played MK4 and Twisted Metal 3 for years with my dad.

Also fun nerdy fact for the day...

That feel I got when going from 56k/ISDN - skipping over DSL - and going straight to cable speed. My ping count in games went from ~150-190 on average to ~7-12.

I had to relearn how to aim and shoot online from getting used to leading the target and taking account lag. After switching to cable speeds it was like playing offline, no delay in shots at all lol.

Man I feel old now.

haha going straight to cable mustve been nice. I know when FIOS rolled out in my area my ping was a constant 30-40 even when playing on UK BFBC2 servers. I miss it. Such a difference from cable. Now im in the 70-100range again on Comcast 50mb/10mb.

I don't think I'm quite nerdy enough for this thread, or maybe just a different kind of nerd.....

PSN ID: b1adesofcha0s90

I'll have to double check if that's correct once I fix my PS3. I rarely ever play games online, but it would be cool to play with some friends. I usually prefer just playing the single player story and then being done with a game.

Vicster 07-10-2013 03:34 PM

I'm on comcast, I get ~15 ping on most East cost CS servers.

b1adesofcha0s 07-10-2013 03:36 PM

I'm on FiOS 15/5 plan, but considering upgrading to the 50MB plan. If only this silly house purchase wasn't going to take all my money :(
