Yeah, my bad, poor choice of words. I'm so used to calling any pizza a pie (my Italian family does this...so I picked up on it). The pizza at Boston's is thin crust or normal crust. I don't think they actually make a deep dish. Their pizza is the bomb. It's definitely my go to here in Waldorf.

Next time I'm down in the Dorf I will have to try it out. Thanks!

Papa is the go to fast food pizza if I ABSOLUTELY have to have fast food pizza. It is, IMHO, the best fast food pizza. But it is by no means a really good pizza...

I dunno...that's going a bit far. "Nothing" ? Really? You sure bout that?

b1adesofcha0s 05-22-2013 10:59 AM

Best pizza is definitely in NYC :p

Wegman's actually has some decent pizza. Tino's in Columbia is ok too. Italia's Corner Cafe in Glen Burnie had some good pizza. Still haven't found any place here that's as good as NYC.

b1adesofcha0s 05-22-2013 11:00 AM

Yeah Papa Johns is the best of the chain pizza stores, but I prefer NY style pizza.

:iagree:

I would love to go to Mola Pizza in Brooklyn for an outrageously large slice, and then swing by Monteleone Bakery for an ice - half almond cream, half pistachio. :yum:

My pizza of choice is always Chicago Deep Dish (pan Style) from Geordano's or Lou Malnatis

Edit: that was completely unbiased....

Khoi, isn't here a food truck vendor that operates near you guys in Jessup that sells Bulgogi subs? I think its called Jessup Deli.

b1adesofcha0s 05-22-2013 11:04 AM

I went to Chicago once when I was in high school and very much regret not trying the deep dish pizza. I was young and foolish back then :icon17:

What do they do with people in Chicago who don't like deep dish?

b1adesofcha0s 05-22-2013 11:07 AM

Probably gonna go to NYC for the July 4th weekend. Want to try some of the more famous pizza places instead of just the local ones I used to go to when I lived there.

I'll expect a complete after action report. I'm told the best is there in New York City.

Lol, yeah, the "secret" recipe for proper buffalo sauce, is just Franks and Butter. Complex, right?

I like Gianni's off Fort Meade, on 175. There's a better place in Pasadena, but I cant remember the name :(

Had a Geo's pizza 3 years ago or so. It was mind blowing. If I can find the pic of it when I get home, I'll upload it.

Have you ever been to Texas Roadhouse? We used to eat at Outback all the time and then started to mix in more things when the Harbor was finished. Now we spend a lot of time there. But we also spend a decent amount of time going to Texas Roadhouse. There's one in La Plata and it's rediculous how much awesome food you get for the money.

Also, if you are into awesome steakhouses, you should try the Old Hickory at the Gaylord hotel in National Harbor. That place is absolutely the best! But be warned, we have spent have spent close to $400 for the three of us to eat there one time (if I'm not mistaken). Place is off the chain, similar to a Ruth's Chris.

:yum:

dmhenderson 05-22-2013 02:57 PM

You can't get into Old Hickory unless you're staying at the Gaylord iirc. Yelp also almost universally hates it (overpriced etc).

I ate at a really fantastic mexican joint overlooking the water there where they make your guacamole at the table. Also pricey but the food was amazing.

eastwest2300 05-22-2013 03:00 PM

Very nice recommendations Chris, I have never eatten at the Texas Roadhouse, I've seen them around though.. I gotta check it out.

I am a fan of Churascaria. Fogo De Chao is good. My favorite is in Atlanta though. Place called, Sal Grosso. Give me the meat grilled on a stick any day!

Rosa Mexicana is the place you are talking about. A bit pricey like most things at National Harbor, but their food is very good.

m4a1mustang 05-22-2013 03:12 PM

Rosa Mexicana is really good. There's one on 7th street right across from the VZ center.

As far as Old Hickory, you definitely don't need to be staying at the Gaylord to get a reservation. My family and I have been three or four times and hadn't been staying in the hotel.

The Mexican you are talking about is Rosa Mexicano; I just ate there again last weekend. :) Place is fantastic. I've been there more times than I can remember.

When it comes to overpriced food, it's all in the eye of the beholder IMHO. I think if you take someone that is used to eating at places like Chilis and what not (not hating at all cause I love me some Chilis) they're almost always going to say that the higher class restaurants are overpriced. I mean, I remember when I used to say Chic-fil-a was overpriced. And to be honest, it is a bit expensive for fast food (outside of breakfast, which is well priced). But you know what, **** is awesome. So, slightly expensive, sure, but overpriced, give me a chicken sandwhich that tastes as good and is less expensive and we'll see.

Yao mean?

Dude, definitely check it out. Think I like about Texas is that it is honestly under-priced. Sure, they are not fancy steakhouse. They may not have the absolute best steak you will ever eat, etc. etc. But they are an amazing value! I mean... three people...full to the point of explosion...on like 60 bones before tip. AND you walk out with left overs! Oh, and it may sound sacrilegious, but I think I like their bloomin' onion better than OBSH.... :ugh2:

Masa 05-22-2013 03:19 PM

All this talk about steak...

We need to do a MAZOC Dinner at Fogo De Chao / Chima / Texas De Brazil.
