So for steps 5-7 I'm assuming that's reading those values on an OBDII scanner.

Sounds correct to me.

That might work literally right before he goes in for the OBD-II emissions test. Be weary though that this probably won't work in the next few years when MD and VA emissions testing equipment gets an upgrade and they can see when your ECU was re-flashed, how long your last CEL was on for before it was cleared, when the CEL was last cleared, etc.

I thought they already can do this?

Some of the newer analyzers can, but most are running the first gen OBD-II stuff that pull the normal parameters of the ECU to ensure all system checks are there. Some can detect if downstream O2 sensors have been removed from the code for things like headers and what-not so your dash never throws a CEL. Newer software is smart enough to know if the factory flash has been tampered with.

They be getting smarter... :icon14:

As long as they employee really lazy people the visual inspection is going to be a joke. I don't see any issues here. get AAM to weld a j bung on there and call it a day. thats what they did for me when my cat o2 sensors wouldn't behave. No software is going to detect that...

I believe blades is throwing a code for bank 1 sensor 1, which was the same code he threw before and after the tune. We cleared it, but didn't disable it because this is the sensor you want working lol we typically disable the secondary sensors which is the ones in your test pipe, hfc, stock cat

b1adesofcha0s 06-18-2013 05:14 PM

I thought that was the sensor in the HFC?

Sensor 1 is pre-cat IIRC

Of course it's gonna be the one that's more of a PITA to replace :shakes head:
