Perhaps generally speaking you are correct. On the streets, the words are clearly POWERD BY HONDA

No

I kinda want to make a BIG turbo legacy. Something that wont spool until 4k rpms so that it is fuel efficient and still Daily driverish. The plan is to swap my existing kit over from the Z onto the Legacy and then build a TT kit for the Z but then I need to come up with an additional 5-6k.

Lemme know if any of you see or know someone selling a Jeep Cherokee/Laredo (Pretty much anything 4 wheel drive that's not a wrangler) for =< $4K, <180K miles, Preferably a 99 at the oldest. Time to get a winter beater.

I tried this about a year ago. You're gonna be shocked at how much used jeeps cost.

I've seen some of the newer ones with supercharged engines. (i think, I dont know anything about Jeep). But they sound beastly.

StangerGT 10-06-2013 12:10 PM

If they are, its aftermarket. The Jeep community generally spends most of the modding money on things like armor / susp. / tires

A low range transfer case takes care of the power issue when tq is needed.

StangerGT 10-06-2013 12:12 PM

i will say tho... if u wanna learn how to work on a car, an XJ or TJ are prolly some of the best.

...aside from all the rust where you generally brake bolts and tools...

simple, cheap, and when u make the fix ugly it just adds to the jeepyness

chieuxuan 10-06-2013 04:33 PM

Two track days wear me out. I should start going to the gym :shakes head: other than that, I sucked on skid pad :icon17:, instructor moved me up to solo but I refused.

chieuxuan 10-06-2013 04:34 PM

Btw, welcome back Josh, I miss yall fgts at the track.

Nothing wrong with refusing a solo, especially with such limited driving time under your belt.

How'd it go otherwise? Was it Shenandoah?

thanx man... i need to get on here more often...

grats on getting solo'd btw. I dont blame you for not taking it. I am under the mentality that if i pay for the track experience, i want the instructor to be there to give me as much input as possible.

chieuxuan 10-06-2013 08:43 PM

Rob, Josh got my answer and it was Shenandoah circuit.

Yes they seem to hold their value well but I'm seeing a bunch of xjs that are falling into my search criteria so it's not like what I'm looking for doesn't exist at all. Its just a matter of figuring out who's problem I want to buy.
