Gives us time to get coffee and BS. We leave by 9:15 to put us at AAM around 9:30 so we *should* be able to park together and in a good spot.

eastwest2300 05-03-2013 08:31 AM

Doesnt it start at 10am?

m4a1mustang 05-03-2013 08:31 AM

It does. But the goal is to ARRIVE EARLY to get good parking and stick together.

ahhhh. k. got it.

I'll be there.

Listen, I need thought on the spacers/camber thing. I installed 25mm spacers on the rear last night and they are perfect. Nice and flush. But to the naked eye there looks to be some negative camber going on after the install. Am I trippin or do I need to get this think aligned?

I searched for this for a while last night but nobody seems to have a definitive answer.

Z runs a good bit of negative rear camber stock. When you add a spacer it will enhance the look to the naked eye, and you do probably gain some negative camber since you are pushing the wheel further out. Technically you shouldn't need an alignment after a spacer install.

This is mine on 20mm:

Camber was always there, the Z's factory spec is -1.8* ~ -2.2*. It just wasn't noticeable since the wheels were tucked into the body. With spacers it just amplifies the OEM camber specs.

When we installed the springs and rear camber arms, I got an alignment done after.

m4a1mustang 05-03-2013 08:44 AM

Which makes sense because those are springs and camber arms. ;)

Anyways, back on topic please.

craig.pulliam 05-03-2013 08:44 AM

Thanks guys. Yeah I figured during hard cornering a little negative camber probably makes the wheels bite when the car leans into a corner, but that's pure conjecture.

I'm a maybe since I still haven't heard back about my Z yet. At this point, I think I won't be able to pick it up until Saturday mid-morning.
