I really appreciate it, lets just say that the cum ho tires on my VT arent the grippiest. I also dont want my guys to try to think that their cars can handle the super sharp turns that the z just loves to do and end up dead/off the road!

Are the wheels 17s or 18s?

Have you looked into a set of PSS', or maybe the Conti DW's if PSS' are a bit overkill?

Cristobal09 04-01-2013 03:25 PM

Well here after I pay my credit card bills off, im going to be putting on some PSS or the conti's with some newer lightweight wheels. They are 18"s. The PSS can come as a factory option believe it or not. But 95 percent of them out there come with the kumho solus tires which are some of the worst tires ive ever ridden on. But imo the PSS are overkill for the VT (veloster turbo) since I already have a Z. Once the conti's are back in stock, ill get those for it.

Bring your radios too!

I gots no radios. If I attend, I'll just have to play caboose and rely on the GPS to help me find the group eventually. :p

If you don't have a radio, you won't want to be last... You'll get caught at lights.

You'll want to be somewhere in the middle.

But if I'm not last, I'll be concerned about someone behind me relying on my path for guidance. I'd rather be at the end, get lost without taking anyone else with me, and find my way via GPS.

As long as the person behind you Does have a radio, if that happens, you pull over, let them take lead, rejoin the group, then reform in your original column.

I've done several convoys before, I know the drill. :icon17:

If you get PSS for the Veloster and not the Z, I will have to slap you.....and not with my hands :|

For the cruise, you guys can do what we did at the GT-R cruise. Every person is responsible for the car in front of them and the car behind them. Keep them both visible and/or within reasonable distance. If you're getting left behind, try to catch up in a safe and reasonable manner. If you're starting to lose the person behind you, slow down to get them back in range. The idea here is that a chain reaction of slowing down will help keep everyone together. Works pretty well if you don't have radios.

I would offer to lend my radios, but I can't find the smegging charger >_<

That works up until Stoplights come into play and you're forced to loose sight of people, then there are turns immediately after. And if you've never driven these roads before it becomes a problem.

Whats the model type we're looking for so I can put a set on pricewatch?

m4a1mustang 04-03-2013 06:31 AM

I can lend you a radio, Aniceh.

The route we are taking is going to be easy. Not much in the way of stoplights. I will get it from Cristobal and post today. If everyone reviews it ahead of the cruise there will be no problems.

Cristobal09 04-03-2013 07:07 AM

Its really not that bad, theres a few spread out ones right when we leave Harris Teeter, then about 4 in Warrenton, then we are on 211. 211 has one right at the beginnning then we are stop light free the rest of the way. Theres one guy on the VT group who will for sure have a radio, and if we have at least another 3 we should be fine.

RandyD 04-03-2013 07:52 AM

i have an extra radio also.. i'll bring it.

there should be very little chance of getting lost - there are no exits at all on the skyline drive :)

do beware though - the rangers pay extra attention to car groups and will harass us for any shenanigans in the park.

Exactly!

Going up the mountain you can have a little fun, but once you go past the booth to pay, sh*t gets real. 211 before Sperryville is loaded with speed traps.
