Yes, radios made the trip. We put them to great use on the road and at the resort to figure out where everybody was. Everyone gets assigned a callsign, too, which can be embarassing when you are walking through a group of people and all of a sudden you hear over the radio "Hoser to Pornstar! Where you at?" :bowrofl:

I'm scared looking forward to the callsign I'm going to get assigned :ugh2:

Everyone, Jay might be a little iritable during the cruise, but let's just cut him some slack since it's that time of the month. :bowrofl:

Anyone doing the Airstrip event???? I would love to do it but at $125 I'm not sure. Because of these gas prices I'm a little strapped for cash for this trip.

Nah, no Airstrip event for me. Maybe if I was making more than 500whp I would go give it a try to see what I could do, but at 410-420whp it's not worth it to me.

Most likely see you there

I still have a fairly large checklist to finish to prepare - fenders rolled, new tires, oil coolers hooked up, race gas tune.

m4a1mustang 04-20-2011 08:15 AM

I updated and added a couple cruise guidelines and added another to the attendance list. Keep the registrations coming, guys!

I think this is all reasonable.

Keep in mind, guys, that we will most likely get separated at points during the cruise. There is no reason to panic or speed up or weave. I think it's a good idea for everyone to learn the route we're taking, too, in case we get separated.

Last year we got seperated once trying to get back to the highway after a stop, but we regrouped after a few minutes thanks to the radios.

m4a1mustang 04-21-2011 06:59 AM

Guys, I updated the main post to include Food and Drink planning.

Quote:

Food/Drink Situation

As those of you who attented ZDayZ last year remember, the MAZOC crew stuck together for almost the entire event. Whether we were out driving the Dragon, lounging at the Wilwood grill, or kicking back some cold ones at Jon's cabin we spent a lot of time together! I suspect this year will be no different, so I figured it would be a good idea to address the food and drink situation.

This year Jon and Pat have graciously decided to bring a portable grill and have offered to provide a steak and baked potato dinner on Wednesday evening when we arrive at the resort. Thanks guys

For the remaining lunches and dinners I believe it would be best that each individual in the group be responsible for providing their own food to grill. Banquet dinners will be provided by the ZDayZ staff on Friday and Saturday nights, so we'll be responsible for our own dinners on Thursday, and lunch on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I figure we'll eat at the Wilwood grill at some point, but maybe not for every meal like last year. :icon17:

So, if you plan on grilling out with the group be sure to bring enough food for the long weekend. Hotdogs, hamburgers, buns, chicken, whatever you want to cook. Also, if anyone else has a portable grill that they could bring let us know. It might be good to have two grills if possible instead of one.

Also, bring beer. You don't want to not bring beer!!!

m4a1mustang 04-21-2011 07:01 AM

I also confirmed with Tony last night that the cake is a lie. I have removed him from Kirk's passenger seat. :(

m4a1mustang 04-21-2011 07:31 AM

Added a list of some things to bring that you might not think about.

Quote:

Other stuff you probably want to bring

Obviously space is limited in our Z's (and even our G's and 5.0s to a certain extent) so we need to be very space concious when we pack. I figured it might be a good idea to bring up some things that you definitely want to bring with you:
  • Fold-out chair(s) - otherwise you'll have no where to sit on the porch!
  • Bug spray (and bear spray if you are worried about that :stirthepot:)
  • Flashlight - it gets DARK at night
  • Rain gear... umbrellas, ponchos, whatever
  • A few extra quarts of oil!!! - The VQs have a tendency to burn oil so you want to have a couple-few quarts on hand just in case!
  • Spare tire or tire repair kit
  • Basic/common hand tools to your vehicle just in case you need to do anything mechanical
  • First aid kit
  • Bottled water & snacks to keep in your car

If anyone has anything else that one could easily forget to pack let me know and I'll put it on the list. Of course, if you happen to drive one blue Maxima, space is unlimited.

My question is, if you can't fit it in your Z but want to put it in the Maxima, how are you going to bring it to the Maxima since it won't fit in the car you need to use to bring it to said Maxima? Pfff... details.

Also, the Max's trunk isn't that cavernous. After a few coolers and the grill go in, there's not going to be much room left. You've been warned!

He's not going. He gave up his registration spot to 98intrigue.

Kirkster 04-21-2011 01:37 PM

I have a small camping grill (and lots of propane gas canisters) I also have less room than the coupes do, so I will see if I can fit it in...
