ZDAYZ 2016!!! May 19 - 22, 2016

MAZOC fans, as the snow melts, its time to once again start thinking and planning for ZDayZ 2016!! Each year ZDayZ grows larger as the Z Nation of enthusiasts throughout the country and beyond become aware of this awesome event which takes place in one of the most scenic areas of the Great Smoky Mountains. The highlight of ZDayZ is the opportunity to drive your Z on the most famous or infamous stretch of roadway in the nation..the Tail of the Dragon.

So, start getting excited about this coming May and plan to join the thousands of Z owners who have conquered the Dragon and enjoyed meeting and celebrating the Z for what it is...a drivers sports car. The MAZOC group typically caravans down a few days early. Several of us are actually departing on the Sunday prior to enjoy a few extra days of the Great Smoky Mountains and the Dragon a little early.

Why ZDayZ?

First: The Tail of the Dragon. One of the most exciting and fun roads in the country to drive. Consisting of 318 S-turns in 11 miles, you will be subjected to various turns and elevations changes all combined at some extremely off kilter moments to test your driving skills. When you complete your first run on the Dragon you will know just what makes the Z worth every penny you spent to own it.

Second: ZDayZ, the event. Take hundreds of Nissan Z, G and GTR enthusiasts from all over the country and bring them together in the Great Smoky Mountains and you have the recipe for lots of fun! ZDayZ offers a variety of things to do both on and off the road. You'll likely make lasting friendships with fellow Z enthusiasts from all over.

There will likely be a separate thread for MAZOC fans to sign up for a caravan down in the coming weeks. In the mean time start making your plans (requesting vacation time, ABC Store runs etc.). FIRST TIME DRIVING THE DRAGON? ORIENTATION & SAFETY TIPS

This was posted in previous years and it seemed to help folks who had never been before to mentally prep for the Dragon. Also can serve as a refresher for those that have been on it but may need a reminder of how "interesting" the road can be. I am completing the Club Sponsorship form and I need some information from those MAZOC members willing to assist for a little bit. I will need your name and T-shirt size for the form. Bryan also said that the volunteer schedule is wide open. I know that we helped with registration last year. We can consider doing that again. Good way to see old friends and meet new ones. The volunteer opportunities are listed below and I need to hear back preferences soon!

That would be great to have you meet up with us down there (we gather at Cabin 660). You can go to the caravan link below, check out the first post and complete the registration form. You can indicate that you will only be involved on the return caravan.

I am setting up an initial thread in MAZOC about ZDAYZ 2017. They contacted me about MAZOC sponsoring the event again by volunteering. I told him we would, but I'll need T-Shirt information again for those willing to volunteer again this year. Since I am "retired" from Dragon runs, I'll have plenty of time to assist back at "base camp". Looking forward to a fun event again this year.

Look for the other threads and please reply if you are willing to volunteer again!
