Man crashes $1.2M McLaren P1 in less than 24 hours of ownership

Less than a day after picking it up, a young hypercar owner made a million dollar mistake. The 27-year-old driver crashed his 1-of-375 McLaren P1 early on Tuesday morning in Texas. Unfortunately, there is now one fewer McLaren P1 in the world.

You're going to see a lot more of this as 650+Hp supercars become more readily available for the masses. It's simply too much car for most people.

JC-Nismo 12-02-2014 05:24 PM

Dam, what a waste.

Zoren 370 12-02-2014 05:48 PM

Too much or lack of coffee is dangerous!

vividracing 12-02-2014 05:51 PM

He crashed 3% of the worlds population of that car.. For a million + dollars, the car manufacturer should fly a driving instructor to you and give you a day on the track to learn to respect the car. Not only do rich idiots have the ability to ruin a thing of beauty, they can also kill someone in the blink of an eye. Unacceptable in my book :shakes head:

I don't care how good or bad skill he have in driving. It was rainy day and he lost control.
What I really want to know is, how the fk a 27 year old have the ability to afford 1.2M dollar car excluding taxes and insurance???

The pictures at the crash site looks like its a beautiful day to me.. There was a puddle in the road, and he probably was on the gas going into the puddle and didnt know how 900hp reacts to all of a sudden not having any traction and he spun out probably going 100mph. This probably could have been avoided if he knew the car better
