no, mine are open SR48's, i think they were called. :D i dont run closed lugs on tuner type wheels on my hobby car.

for your dd though, closed end is easier to blow out the water after rain/wash.

mainly from making the weak bits robust (including better radio), and making the track more crash friendly. no uncovered metal shelf legs, etc. of that nature. :ugh:

Just got a call that the shop we dropped the 350z off at took it for a road test and the tech got into an accident. We dropped it off for an oil change, no idea why it was even on a road test. It's not drivable so we're on our way back from downtown to figure it out. :shakes head:

yah, honestly it is. i can play at my own pace when i want and not having to worry about my gear getting stolen is a good feeling. ive had buddies of mine get their expensive radios stolen, lathes, motors, batteries. :shakes head:

that was in socal.

JARblue 12-02-2014 04:42 PM

Test drove a Jetta TDI today. Underwhelming. Asked for the MT version just to get a better feel for the engine power band. Torque is good across the board, but definitely needs a tune for some lower end throttle response - its super muted below 3K RPMs to boost the mpg rating apparently.

i'd get an accord sport 6MT sedan in that price range.
4banger but it's fairly quick in the 7's for 0-60mph.

vw's are so  these days.

I don't think the Accord is in the same price range. The Jetta is like 21K new fully loaded. Accord is pushing 25K with the same technology.

I think we're going to have to step up to the Accord range though. Maybe something a year old with <10K miles.

yah, i was thinking more in terms of sedans in the 20K range.. but looking at the vw tv ads, i suppose the jetta is cheaper than the accords. :D

JARblue 12-02-2014 04:56 PM

It felt cheaper, that's for sure. 112 miles on the car, and I hear a plastic rattle from the dash :ugh:

blackcherry20 12-02-2014 06:36 PM

Nothing much.
Working really hard lately.

Mass company wide email came out today. 5-8s schedule for the entire site next week (normal is 4-10s). Guess why?

500 people (of 2000+) may get layoff notices on thursday/friday if Federal Gov't budget doesn't include funding for our project. They want everybody on site when they find out so you can get your notice-clean out your desk-turn in your badge-and hit the road jack.

Other than that...hope you are all having a better day than ms. pint. Or me.

P. S. This is kind of normal for govt contract work and workers.
