I think the carpet installers better not charge me full price! I just lifted the heaviest m-fing roll of carpet ever. 14'x36' of thick carpet is no joke, well maybe to EW and Nismo :icon17:

I just left a message for my tuner about new features being released for the Ecutek software. I hope I can get them soon :excited:

I love it. The improvement in throttle response is worth it by itself.

However, if I had been forced to pay full price for a tune, I would have either waited for all features to be released or I would have gone with Uprev. My tuner offered up the tune at cost - I was his first stock Z (mostly stock - I had intakes).

 I had my mind pretty much made up to go with Uprev, I will have to go read the Ecutek thread now. I had kinda given up on them as it didn't seem like they were even working on new features for our platform.

madwi 08-28-2014 10:37 AM

After reading Ecutek thread, looks like I'll stick with uprev. :icon17:

Honestly, I am happy with the performance aspect as is. However, the one feature I really wanted from a tune was multiple maps, specifically for valet mode. I would not have considered dropping $500+ for a tune that didn't have the map switching feature.

I can't tell if people are just irritated with Ecutek for making it seem like the features were coming soon after the initial software released for the 370Z (they obviously put them on the shelf while they focused on BR-Z and GT-R software) or if they are just Uprev homers. I didn't really have any expectations, so I'm perfectly happy with the results. If I have to wait a bit for the updated features, so be it.

Yeah, map switching is a must for me with nitrous. It makes me feel a whole lot better about spraying.

Yeah, it's a mess :icon17:

I stopped posting in there when people were deriding my review because I didn't pay full price. I put that info in almost every post, and they were still trolling. Sorry, but I have every right to post up my thoughts on my experience with the tune and my tuner.

There are a number of people in the Tech Section who just think they know everything. No point in getting into it with them. Just because I don't know as much about a topic as someone else doesn't make them an expert on that topic.

I think my tuner charges somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 for a tune, including the license. However, he was looking for a stock Z to tune when I originally got mine and offered to do it for the cost of the tune license ($175). I couldn't say no

Well, sorta, here is the current state of things...

I am hoping to have it all installed this fall and still be able to make a trip to Chicago for a tune and test pipe install. That is the plan anyway (which means more than likely spring time it will happen :icon17: )
I do have a template made for a new floor in spare tire area. I need to pick up some mdf and some good bolts to go through floor and mdf into bottle holder.
