Vaping

Looked and didn't see a vaping thread, so figured i'd start one. Talk about what you used to smoke analog wise (1-2 packs a day/ a few a day), what you started with for e-cigs and then to vaping, your set up, favorite flavors/ vendors, etc.

I'm currently using a Zenith V2 atty with dual parallel dragon coils, and swap out periodically with a TOBH atty on a dual tiger coil set up, with a dynasty mod fit for a 18650 or 26650 battery. I don't have an ohm reading at the moment, but i'd guess they are both around a .2-.3ohm reading.

I mostly use in house flavors from which ever shop I go to. since I first started the whole e-cig thing, I went from using 8mg nic content, all the way up to 36mg. Dripping with 36mg is IMHO deadly. I instantly get a headache and eyes water like a sprinkler system. So then I dropped down to 24mg, and still dripping at 24mg with 100% VG.

I started off smoking a pack to pack and a half a day, and then introduced to the "Blu E-cigs", then to the slightly bigger tank e-cigs with just the replaceable coils, on to rebuildable tanks on an I-taste SVD mod, and now sub ohming RDAs with my current set up.

My wife has always hated me smoking cigarettes, so I found a better alternative. I've got a better sense of smell since I've switched to digital, better breathing during running, better taste. I'll never go back to smoking a normal cigarette again.

I haven't smoke a real cigarette like I used to in 14 months :icon17:

Im using an Ego C upgrade battery with a Kangertech Protank II right now. Use 12mg of nicotine. Works well for me and gives me my nicotine fix. May get a stronger battery in the future, but don't want to walk around with a brick in my pocket!

Debiandog 07-18-2014 06:03 AM

I have like 200 juice reviews online. We keep them short https://www.youtube.com/user/DogAndClay

I favor a 18650 variable voltage mod and a Protank V2

DjSquall 07-18-2014 06:15 AM

Do these E-cigs really help? I smoke 2 packs a day, been smoking for 20 years. Always wanted to give it a try, but never knew what brand/where to buy.

Sub'd for more info.

Debiandog 07-18-2014 06:31 AM

I smoked for 15 years and worked at Phillip Morris so I could smoke at my desk. Yikes! I quit the day my ecig arrived but everyone is different.

DJ unfortunately it is like getting your car right for you takes a while and will cost a bit of money. I did a lot of reading and research. I would highly recommend the E-Cigarette Forum and I would recommend some type of variable voltage unit. Without getting too much into it it allows you make you vape hotter or cooler because if you like a lighter flavor it will probably shine at a lower voltage whereas a rich tobacco flavor like a bit more heat. The real challange is finding a flavor you like. I would look for a vape store close to you and ask for samples (they will be glad to) if not then go to somewhere like https://freedomsmokeusa.com/ and buy a bunch of 3ml sampler packs till you find one you like.

DjSquall 07-18-2014 11:25 AM

Thanks for the tip, I'll go lurk those forums tonight. I'm just hesitant to drop $100+ on a product I won't like!

Debiandog 07-18-2014 11:42 AM

Well again if you have a vapor shop around you you can go look at various ones and try them out. May want to check online to verify their pricing tho ;)

I will say that it helped me out tremendously. the initial cost of the start up is a little much, but once you get started its so much cheaper.

Oh, and searching and buying online is a lot more cheaper than going to a store too. Of course going to a store first will give you a better idea on things since you can physically hold the items and look at them.

Vegitto-kun 07-18-2014 08:14 PM

I used to smoke like a pack and half a day of blue kent. I quit for a like 7 months but I still got urges up the *** and while I am here in SA my fiancé was all like " I dont mind e-cigarettes". so yeah.

I used to smoke south beach smoke's cartridge system but I quit that because I was tired of fricking menthol.

me and the waifu went to the adult mega videoplex in SA and I saw that they sold E-cigs so I got one.

right now I just have a basic new u vaporizer with ignite's cherry flavor. its pretty nice. alot more interesting than the cartridges i used to use.

we got some flavors from nolavape coming in since alot of people said they are great for the more "special" flavors.

funniest thing is my fiance who is anti smoking now is in love with vaping bahaha. currently she is smoking my cherry but she thinks its too much like cough syrup, she got some flavors but all nicotine free. she is especially into it because she is the type of girl that makes like her own soaps and such so she is totally into making her own flavors haha.

since I always liked south beach smoke's cartridges we got her a starter kit from them

currently she is looking into making a oreos flavoring

tiger123 07-19-2014 12:24 PM

I Vape just for the fun of it. I have never really smoked Cigs on a regular basis. I get my juice with 0mg of nicotine. I just like the flavor and it's fun.

Right now I am using a Vision Spinner 2, multiple voltage 1650mah battery with a Kanger Aero Tank. I am really liking not only the adjustable voltage on the battery, but the adjustable airflow on the Kanger as well.

I am also into Virgin Vapor for their juice. It is 100% organic in either 100% VG or 50/50 VG/PG mix. I am using the 100% VG as I am some what sensitive to PG. Check them out at, Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

I am using Razzamataz (Raspberry/Blue Raspberry Mix), Black Cherry Marshmallow, Blueberry, Honeydew, Plumb, Orange Dreamsicle, Maple Syrup French Toast. All of these taste exactly like the real thing. Unbelievable. The fact they are 100% organic is the icing on the cake IMO.

ka24king 07-19-2014 12:59 PM

I went from a pack a day sober and 2 if drinking to FIN ecigs loved it since i could smoke in work and i dident have to take brakes as often but will dident do it for me.

from there i went to a tasty puffs ecig and basic clearomizer much better but still not enough to quit.

then one day i just got sick from a analog cig felt real shitty so i relaxed felt better went back to work started stressing again so went out to puff my life away on an analog and again i felt really sick afterward or half way threw rather but i could still smoke my ecig.

so from there obviously the switch to ecigs was very easy. since then i bought myself a KING MOD and a few drippers but for some reason alway going back to my nimbus clone. i love it!

my favorite flavors are

my everyday number on never gets old is (MANCH BY ALPHAVAPE)

after i eat or am drinking a coffee or eating breakfast i enjoy ( UNICORN MILK BY CUTTWOOD)

my back up is (LION BY ILLUMINATI VAPORS)

Vegitto-kun 07-25-2014 10:16 PM

I got the aspire nautilus with the joyetech evic

waifu got a normal aspire BDC tank with her hello kitty ego style battery

we got some new flavors from rocket fuels(cats meow is awesome) she got bandersnatch from alice in vapeland which apparently is like a peanut butter banana sandwich(I don't like it).

also some atomizers for trying out **** and some cheap clearomizers for changing flavor when we want.

atomizers are fun when we we randomly want to change flavors while home(since dripping is hard on the go)

we use our main tanks for our flavors. (for me the rocket fuel cats meow and for her south beach smoke's white tea)

my second favorite is nolavape's sour straws...its completely accurate.

so far rocket fuel and nolavape are the best.

shame we are going back to belgium soon. we don't know how many american brands ship international and honestly I have NO idea if there are any good european types. plus I don't think belgium has vapeshops at all since the EU wants to regulate them badly.

one thing I am definitely getting are the BVC for my nautilus since everybody seems to love them waaaay more

When I was in korean, ecblend.com is what I got all of my juice from. They have one of the biggest variety of juices i've seen. Just about any flavor you can think of, they have. They'll also let you make your own blends, you just have to know what % of each flavor you want, so searching on google for something they dont carry and finding its % values will help with that.

fasttech.com is where I TRIED to buy my hardware. Never made it to korea, and still havent seen it here back in the states yet either. I've ordered 3 different RDAs, and ohm reader, and 2 18650 batteries. Not knowing how the proper way of shipping the batteries was, is why I still havent seen them yet. A friend ordered from them as well, a week after i did, and received his package just fine, without buying batteries. I sent fasttech an email with my order number asking about my package and a possible refund, and they replied back stating they will investigate the matter, and if nothing turns up they will either reship my order to my new address in the states, or give me a 100% refund, which I thought was pretty cool. So, you can try to order hardware from them, just not batteries.

Codename067 08-10-2014 01:49 PM

I started out with Varivolt setups...with in a month, I was all mechanical lol! I have about 10 mechanical mods with maybe 6 drippers, and 5 RBAs. Nothing beats fat rips with tons of flavor. And I only vape on 0%. For the flavor only!

Codename067 08-11-2014 12:03 AM

The collection! Other tanks and misc. stuff not shown.

Good lord! Mind explaining what the difference is between a regular tank and varivolt battery is and these mechanical mods or whatever they call it? I've been using the same setup for months now, but i'd like to eventually get a nice one like one of those.

regular battery mods cannot be adjusted or altered in any way. The way you buy it is the way you get it. they have one button, and thats to fire it up. these are the less expensive of the 3.

variable voltage mods can be adjusted to the watt/voltage you like for increased vape/ hit. this setup with your favorite juice is optimal of the three and safer to go with than a mech mod.

mechanical mods are not necessarily recommended if you're not cautious and know what you are doing. there is no safety from the time you hit the button to the coils heating up; your getting 100% battery power. although there are certain things you can buy to place ontop of your battery to regulate how much of your battery is going to the coils (someone correct me if i'm wrong, as i have not used one of these yet and knowledge is minimal) also, getting the correct battery makes a huge difference in keeping your face and limbs in tact like they are now.

i am using in my nemisis mod a Sony 18650 2100mah battery on a tobh rda with tiger coils, and all is well. just do a google search on mod/ battery types to get a better understanding of whats safest.

...help
meeee.
too much juice

I am still sad that nolavape doesn't ship internationally and I cant find any webshop that sells them

and I am slowly heading towards getting a Rebuildables. there is just too much choice...not to help that the webshops here barely have any. plus most american sites don't ship overseas

if I have to believe every youtuber all of them are pretty legit. ofcourse the ones that really stand out are always completely sold out :shakes head:

who wants to be my middle man? :roflpuke2: I get **** shipped to you and you just ship it to belgium and il pay the shipping plus abit extra.

Fury's reply was good.

The tanks are universal. Almost all have 510 connection. Which means, almost any tank would fit on pretty much most mods out there, mechanical or varivolt ones.

Mechanical is really the way to go, but need fiddling with. Topped with either a dripper tank [where you have to drip juice every so many hits] which requires making "builds" that you will slowly get better at the more you do, or with a rebuildable atomizer with a tank [also require builds] to keep juice in so you don't have to keep dripping.

I have a KangerTech tank and Style of Mojo bottom. My buddy built and gave it to me. I smoke Mother's Milk with 0 nic. I just asked him if he plans to sell over seas and he said he plans to set up an online site and sell. Hopefully, he can hook you up Veggi. He owns K-9 vap shop here in Houston.

YzGyz 08-18-2014 02:20 PM

A simple breakdown of my Vaporizer.

http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...psd43a72ee.jpg

from left to right: mouth piece (interchangeable for different style and shape), tank (Kangertech AeroTank), Coil (this is a duel coil so it burns hotter and stronger), Li Battery (this is a small one, they have med and larger sizes), just a top for the battery holder, battery holder (it's just a tube with threads on the ends

I forgot to break down the button but it's at the bottom of the battery holder, you can see there is a little spinning ring that allows you to "lock" it off. This part also screws off so you may make adjustments so that it may better make contact with the battery ends.

This is it screwed together pretty much in order of the top pic.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps930b751b.jpg

These are some accessories for it.
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...psefd64d10.jpg

On the left is the Box for the tank. to the right of that is the original mouth piece (it's all metal instead of the red one I have now). To the right of that is an extra duel coil. This kit came with two coils. That's a nice bonus in case the current one burns out. That ring on of is a spacer/reducer in case you prefer using a smaller battery. Then there is the easy fill squeeze bottle to fill my tank, battery charger and Mother's Milk (they call this juice).

http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...psd08ab6d2.jpg

I added a pic of the battery holder broken down.
From the left to right again: Coil, top for battery holder (you can see the two adjustable "nipples" stacked one on top the other, these screw in and out to make better contact with the battery), battery holder, battery, bottom of battery holder/button (The mettle ring with the dimple cut in it screws up and down locking the button that powers the coils. You can also the another adjustable screw inside the bottom cap. This screw is just another adjustment point to make better contact with the battery.

Liquid_G 08-18-2014 02:41 PM

I'm probably in the minority here but i'm a vaper and smoker still.

Been thru the Blu's and Njoys, then went to spinners with Protanks etc.

Been using a mechanical mod (scud telescoping) with a Genesis style tank. SS wick with Ekowool sleeve. 2/3 wraps of 28g kanthal comes out to about .7 ohms.

Usually vaping fruit flavors with lots of menthol. Ruthless EZ Duz it on Ice is my ADV.

I was well over a pack a day smoker, probably closer to 2 most days. I'm now down to under half a pack. Been that way for a few months.

While i like the vape and can almost use it exclusively.. Still have a hard time giving up the morning coffee and cigs, or smoking after i eat or while drinking etc..

I think if I can find a setup that works and hits like a brand new coil all the time, I could probably give it up for good. Friends have told me to get a dripper but seems like so much more hassle. What do you guys think?

The reality is an e-cig will NEVER be like a fresh new cig every time. I hear you... as I do enjoy the taste and flavor of a new cartridge or coil. Dripping is a pain unless you are sitting around all day. Hell i am sitting around all day but I am just TOO lazy.

However... having 2 friends die and 2 others with throat cancer right now makes it easier for me to put up with less than "full flavor" of a real cig. :(
