Useless for transportation? I drive around just as normal as everyone else

I don't see that many haters either, just alot of close minded uneducated people, nothing wrong with that :tiphat:

good day all!

not sure where you get that. I would call you uneducated for stretching tires to their max with the obvious safety hazards long before I would call anyone else in this thread uneducated. (except nogood, he's our special friend) :rofl2:

Daily driving that thing ok so far? great, glad you haven't had anything serious happen, but it is only a matter of time til those seals break and blow a tire.

I don't mind the slammed look with lots of camber, it actually looks really good on a lot of cars. It's the 245 wide tire on the 12" wheel that just doesn't look right (or drive right for that matter). and yes, I have exaggerated the sizes...

shabarivas 09-16-2009 01:47 PM

Ha ha ... figured you would find your way in here shane - it was only a matter of time... But yea... Looks like a lot of people here are on the function > form bandwagon... but to each their own right?

And yes - G35s are pig slow lol.. but they do look oh-so-sexy :)

theDreamer 09-16-2009 01:57 PM

ShanesG, while I believe people can do what they want with what they own, but I would be concerned about the tires on those rim causing an issue while driving. The tire has very little seal to the wheel which if caught on the wrong surface or changes slightly you are going to be in for a major problem. Not just for you but other drivers around you which becomes a safety concern.

Not touching this again with a 10-foot poll. To each their own, all that matters is you dig it. Cheers. :tiphat:

Again yes, uneducated. People have been daily driving with stretch tires for alot of years. It's just fairly new to these cars which is why i understand alot of people are again uneducated on stretched tires. People drift at 40+mph on more stretch than i have. I have Yet to see one case of someone's bead breaking and blowing a tire. Even if you could show me once case of that it still wouldn't mean much, i could show you handfuls of people blowing tires on regular "in-spec" sizes.

People are quick to say it's a hazard, but 90% of the people are just "guessing" that and only saying because of what other non-educated people are saying/telling them, and have no hard evidence that it is indeed such a hazard that it be so dangerous to drive on.

It's all good that peple don't like the look, i mean there's alot of styles that i shake my head at but i at least make a point to learn about what im talking about if im gonna criticize something to the point your calling someone "stupid". There are so many different style of modding out there and most of them i personally think are ugly, for instance frost's car, you couldn't pay me to drive that, yeah ok it's his wifes choice in whees, nice excuse, i would laugh at my gf if she tld me she wanted those, but w/e floats his boat right lol.If something is done right and clean i will say i wouldn't do it but also am open to all modding and if done right i do give prop's.

There is a recommended tire size listed on the manufactures tire specificatiosn for a reason. They aren't made to be run on wider or narrower wheels, and it will affect the handling characteristics of said tire to do so.

yes, people blow out tires on hard pot-holes all the time, but think percentages. the percentage of people on stretched tires with failures is going to be much higher than those without.

It's one thing to say "that's not my style, I wouldn't drive it"...it's a whole other issue to say "There's no way in hell I am riding in that car, I value my life"...

Not guessing, it has been shown that driving like that is dangerous and as time goes on you are more likely to have a problem. Now I will say many roads today are much better than years ago, but it does not mean it is any safer than before (correlation between the two at most).
