poured a 12'x30' concrete patio yesterday

next step is to cover the top in flag stone and do my built in natural gas BBQ :yum:

priced out stone today, came out a little cheaper then I was expecting which is always nice

it can all be done………at a price $$$$ :rofl2:

kind sucks I am spending all my vacation money on my backyard :ugh2:

if only the wife wasn't on maternity leave, this backyard would have more then covered the cost of a BP kit that I want :ugh2:

Not sure if any of you have had concrete work done but whole sh!t they rape you if you have a contractor do it! My pad would have been 4x the cost then what it cost for me and my brother to do it. Sure it might have taken longer as I work throughout the day/week and can only do so much work each night but in <2weeks I had it prepped (tampered the soil, formed up and rebar in place) and ready to go  yesterday was a busy day though with the pour.

now this week I can finally try to piece my Z back together and work on my power windows issue

First oil change on the wife's car today. Two broken (metal) oil filter wrenches, two trips to the auto parts store, and 2 hours later I'm finally done. Stupid Toyota over-torquing the oil filter housing. I'm shocked/relieved that the housing did not break given the amount of torque required to break it loose. I swapped the element and tightened to spec so, fingers crossed, next oil change will be a breeze.

To the average person, they would've just taken it to a shop, but I just love wrenching! :)

Kate and I just cleaned out more than 400 pounds of books from our home library.

1/2 to Goodwill and 1/2 to eBay...
