but i am getting older and im starting to make piece with AT's for grand touring purposes.. but the thing about the IS is that paddle that turns with the steering wheel. :ugh: i dont see how i can shift while making a left-turn. cause i cant in my other AT fit. :ugh:

i will aways have one MT car though (probably my Z). :p

My DD will always be AT (or DCT), and toy car will be MT (or DCT). Sadly, MTs will probably be few and far between 5-10years from now.

yah, completely agree. even sports cars are pretty much all going to be electronic clutch so might as well start preparing.

btw, i meant "make peace" not "make piece" for all grammar police.

dang, while you folks are flying all over the continent, it looks like i have to go to the other side of the globe once again this summer... :ugh:

kenchan 07-16-2014 04:38 PM

maybe this time on the way back, i'll stop by at my pop's lexus dealer when he picks up his new NX and sit in a JDM IS350 for kicks. :p

Thought you hated Toyota?

Davey 07-16-2014 04:42 PM

My DD was an auto and I traded it in for a stick. I got so bored driving it. Of course the first road trip I took it on there was about 18 miles of construction backup... :ugh2:

If I lived in a less congested area, I wouldn't mind an MT as a DD. AT just makes more sense when my average speed is 16mph :icon17:

I hear you... Most days it's slow but steady and I'm OK. I really didn't mind the auto when the traffic got bad but it was a really boring car.

I guess a funner, sportier car with an auto wouldn't be too bad as a DD.

Yeah it's not so much the MT that bothers me, it's the idiot AT drivers that don't understand proper vehicle spacing and accelerate for 5ft then hit their brakes repeatedly. When I'm in the Z and stuck in traffic, I generally like to be around the semi's because they get it. I just stick it in 2nd and coast.

Coil-overs are a hassle to me and I do not think any of them are superior to the Koni/Swift combination (for the street). I considered, briefly, the Bilstein coil-over, but the cost made me remove it from my list. Come to Sacramento and you can drive my car to see for yourself.

All Z-people are welcome at Casa Onzedge™, except for Mr. houkouonchi...

I do plan to go to California this year I will surely ring you a bell just to say Hello!
Im definitely considering of keeping my swift springs.
One of the reasons why I stay away from coils aside from the cost!

as a car to motor in, i do hate it.
as a sofa that moves, i dont really care.

but i hear the new IS350 is pretty wicked..and i like the shape.
i wouldnt mind going to work everyday in that, and take it out for
weekend strolls for sightseeing.

i only drive MT cars. my fit's clutch is so light it's easier to drive that vs
my AT fit cause i dont have to keep pressing on the brake due to the creep.

i want to try that abarth... should be fun as hell to drive that tiny
thing with that nice exhaust growl and MT. :D but no sense of comfort.
the suspension stroke is short so riding bumpstops often if lowered...and
im definitely lowering it if i get it. :D

dang the swifts springs are awesome. i couldn't believe how well they matched my stock dampers on my dd when i put them in.

first time ever i was happy with just doing springs. :D and ive tried all sorts of
brands neuspeed, eibach, tein, tanabe, h-sports, etc. etc. none came close to
the swifts. all of the other ones needed dampers later and/or swaybars.
