Just called and made the change on my insurance for the NISMO, and called to schedule a service appointment.
I drove the car to work today... 200 miles and it still feels like the tires are a little flat-spotted. They are better but there is still a little shake at 70 - 75 mph. Was anybody else's Z out of alignment on delivery? I think it's toed out a little. I could maybe "wait and see" a few more miles on the tires if they wanted me to but this steering is pretty twitchy/nervous. It gets light like a Cadillac and you're chasing it all over the road like it's got a bad tie rod. I've driven a car with 0 toe before (and a few Z's) and this is much worse than I remember. Got a service appt. for Saturday, hopefully they'll get me all fixed up. It's still break-in miles now anyway so it's not like I'm missing much. :) |
enjoy it bro

lol... yah, one of the items i did was repair and paint ceiling... that was a pain on my neck and back. wish i was like a spider and could hang up-side-down to do the work. lol :icon17: Quote:
the advans with the nismo wheels have some tramlining on grooved roads. ive not driven the S001's. your flat spot...hummmm... was your tire psi low while at the dealer? regardless, you shouldn't get ANY vibrations at speed. if it was low maybe your dealer can give you a deal on new tires. |
dayam... imaging having 4 arms and hands to do the work... and 4 legs for stability.
id be done in like 2min. lol |
imaging buying a dozen eggs on a hot day and by the time you're home from the supermarket, all the eggs have hatched from the heat? :icon17:

It's not tramlining (no more than any Z would), the highway can be smooth with no cracks or anything and at 50 mph the steering feels pretty normal but at 70 it's very light - like the opposite of what the speed sensitive steering should do. So the steering gets very light, and you have to keep aiming the car back toward straight. Then, if you're turning, say on an off-ramp or whatever at 70 mph, the wheel gets heavier after about the first 1" of travel. I'm convinced the alignment is out. As for the flat spots the car had 6 miles on it when I test drove it, it had just been sitting for a long time. It seems like that should have corrected itself by now. Seems I may be getting an alignment and 1 or 2 new tires. We'll see. :) |

GL with the alignment and also seeing if you can get new tires. :D |
so finally after 2 days of painting, my nose is finally starting get sensitive to the smell of paint.
you know how you're exposed to something for a while your brain caliberates to it? :D i guess my brain never caliberates to dumbarses so that was a bad explanation... :ugh: |
