Z Crash

Saw this posted on another Z forum. Thought I would share and hopefully remind everyone to keep the speed down and drive safe...

I don't see any resemblance of a car anywhere except for the wheels. Super scary :icon14:

Looks like it was a 350Z GT based on the Brembo's and the rims.

RIP to the driver.

Zteve 03-27-2014 01:46 PM

notice on the one side shot how they photoshopped out the window section? i'm sure there was nothing much left of that driver.

Seems to me we have a Darwin award winner. Deceased had a history of being stupid, so hopefully he hadn't procreated. :icon14:

Not to pile on, but there are times I have friends who don't seem to care about little issues as long as they don't make The Big Mistakes. But take this:

Quote:

"...In 2008, his record shows, he was part of a crash with property damage. In a separate incident that year, he was cited for driving 55 mph in a 35 mph zone."
Those might have been things on any Average Joe's record, but once you make one Big Mistake, they turn into something else: a trend. And even if the details illustrate how little those two things maybe were, no news article will get into those details when reporting on your Big Mistake.

Just sayin...be careful out there and stay safe and legal.

Joepro 03-27-2014 02:07 PM

 JHC...

Arrvaxx 03-27-2014 02:14 PM

Wow. Just...wow.

kenchan 03-27-2014 02:28 PM

im glad the girl wasn't hurt...well, not physically at least.

Zerocool 03-27-2014 02:52 PM

damn there was nothing left!

falconfixer 03-27-2014 02:54 PM

Holy shyt! I watched the video and when they're dragging it up the flatbed you can see the muffler tip is in front of the cabin, well what's left of it.

soooo, VDC off?

Zerocool 03-27-2014 02:55 PM

Could be a million scenarios.
lost control
dog ran in the middle of the street
brakes failed
texting -_-
etc..

2011 Nismo#91 03-27-2014 03:05 PM

Wow one of the worst accident scenes that I ever saw. RIP to the driver, bad decision to do a 100mph any time in the streets.

"The twisted remains of a garbage can and bus stop bench marked the start of the destruction, and tire tracks showed more of the path.
Where the car broke apart, smaller pieces and bigger chunks lay in the yard and in the road. A medical examiner used a red plastic bag to collect the victim's remains. It took police nearly five hours to clear the road."

Please people don't race on the streets there are plenty of places setup for high speeds all across the country. Even if you know the road who knows if a car a few min ago was leaking oil or something fell off it, at high speeds you don't have enough time to react.

Also I don't understand why cities plant trees on the sides of roads, everything else put on the side of a road needs to be able to break away if hit except these trees which will destroy a car or any other vehicle that hits time.

FairladyZ10PG 03-27-2014 03:46 PM

So glad no one else was hurt. As for the driver..I have no sympathy.

25 years later they are still talking about his drunk driving. So he was not a kid. I assumed he was young driving 100 MPH past a house(s). Old guys are screw ups too.

I still hate this story and may he rest in peace.

100MPH late at night screams drunk driving. I'd bet the way our society is today the toxicology report will have alcohol and RX meds in his system.

Wonka2581 03-27-2014 04:17 PM

This goes to show, Dont be a dumb *** and take your **** to the track to push the car....

Lol what? Who texts at 120mph or more?

A car doesn't do this unless it crashes at 100+. We all know these cars can reach 100 in no time and can brake in no time. So no way he was doing only 100. Because by the time the brakes are applied or at least wind pushing on the car with the foot off the pedal or fiction from going sideways, he will be below 100 in a heart beat. This isn't a sub 100 crash. He was maxing the car out and lost it for whatever reason.

My money would be on the same people who take photos of their top speed and post it to FB/Instagram.

"A caller reported seeing the car driving south on 49th Street N at a high speed without headlights..."

No headlights either. I'm willing to bet a large sum that the driver was also intoxicated no doubt.

:iagree:Yeah, are you serious? ha. That rate of speed, at that time of the night..I doubt it was texting or swerving to miss a dog.

RIP to the driver. That's too young to die.

RN SHARK 03-28-2014 12:34 AM

Good thing my headlights are automatic.

I found it funny as many others have.

Z-Girl 12 03-30-2014 03:35 PM

OP thanks for the post and reminder...I definitely need it every now and then.

Joepro 03-30-2014 04:28 PM

I would also suspect intoxication by the history, but who knows, my friends laugh at me, but I do not drive the Z if I plan on having a few drinks while I am out, it is just not wise, I tell them I don't drink and Z. It just too tempting to go fast to begin with, let alone what a few drinks do to your confidence level, not a good combo.

ElVee 03-30-2014 05:03 PM

Indeed, there shouldn't be ANY driving when drinking at all. I mean, even if things are fine 49 times. But on that 50th you get a DUI even for just a random pull-over....that will change your life. (Speaking from seeing people lose licenses from DUI,,,it impacts jobs, lifestyles, lives, even if you don't hit anything while driving.)
