Yeltsin cares as much about US sanctions as DE.50 cares about ImportConvert selling his Z. Not a whole lot that the US can do about the situation and even less that we will do.

Economic sanctions won't work, with china backing Russia. In fact, china and Russia team up against us in a economic war, we lose and very badly.

Chuck33079 03-15-2014 10:18 AM

The last thing we need do do is get involved. So of course, that means we're going to get involved.

Sanctions against Russia

This is serious stuff gentleman. If Russia does not comply which strongly looks like they will not the EU NATO and US Will be involved, truly a world conflict. Decades of diplomacy stemming from the cold war are at stake and so is the autonomy of eastern europe.

This is probably why we are involved once again. Nato will vote today on a US drafted resolution...not the UK, not Germany or France. We have a battlegroup aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean as we speak. Like it or not gentleman we have the best capabilities out of all the nations on this earth, The rest of the world looks up to us

Not quite. Let's not go crazy here. That's the kind of rhetoric our government is going to use to get us involved, but it's pretty far from reality.

Taking bets on how long this thread lasts- I'm taking noon CST before a mod notices it. :rofl2:

Tribalpinoy91 03-15-2014 10:24 AM

Rhetoric? Going crazy? This is the avenue the current situation presents itself..

:shakes head: truth.

Chuck33079 03-15-2014 10:29 AM

No, it's not. This isn't the beginning of a world conflict. Do we not remember what happened the last time Russia tried this? Plenty of people who watched too much news were worried like you. But did the Russian-Georgian conflict turn into a world conflict?

XiP 03-15-2014 10:31 AM

this should be resolved by having obama fight putin in a 5 round UFC rules MMA match

Wouldn't take 5 rounds. Barry's got the height and weight on Putin, but Putin's got the crazy. :rofl2:

Going by recent history, all the EU/NATO/US/et al will do is blow a lot of hot air and maybe impose some economic sanctions. Yeah, that's got Putin quaking in his boots.

Are you seriously suggesting that we go to battle with Russia?

You haven't been keeping up with the news for the past decade or two, have you?
