17, paying for my own car, soon to have move out when I turn 18 and have the funds to practically support myself for the most part. Pretty successful so far in my opinion.

Exactly. Paying for your own car at that age is a good thing. But the only reason you can do that is because the rest of your bills are paid by someone else. Add in rent, food, utilities, insurance, etc and that McJob isn't keeping you in a Z.
