Here, they dump gravel on the roads. Mixed with salt. Not much salt. More gravel.

Yes! In some areas, there is no such thing as glass insurance. It is not allowed because of the amount of gravel that's dumped on the roads.

Red-Neck country liv'n.

Just got the call from the Chevy dealership, I think the cost to repair a minor oil leak, oil change and fixing the passenger side mirror is going to cost me more than buying a great condition used truck lol

honestly speaking though.... i know lot of folks buy cheaparse beaters for winter use, but with temperatures going into sub-0F (-20C) i dont think it's a wise idea to buy crappy pos.

you could literally die in the cold if you breakdown in the middle of nowhere with no cell coverage... :eekdance:
then who's going to enjoy your weekend fun car? not you... :ugh2:

kenchan 03-20-2014 09:37 AM

i think it's better to buy a new or new-ish beater like my dd's. something reliable and sort of fun to use, great utility to help out your hobby cars (carry wheels and bits) so they can earn some meaning of why you paid a tad extra.
