Calling all motorcycle owners!

So I only have ever rode a 04 GSXR 750 which I owned when I was 18yo. I'm looking to get back into it now and have had my eye on a Triumph Daytona 675r. Has anyone had a chance to ride one? Any impressions on it? I haven't ridden in years and really want to get back into it :D. My budget is 10k and under for a used 675r. I already have one that I've contacted the owner about but I wanted to see if anyone had anything good/bad to say about it before I start to put money towords one.

Hi, I haven't ridden the 675 but a lot of people and the magazines love them. And it is something different that you won't see everywhere and it has a distinct sound also.

You should be able to check reviews from Sport Rider or Motorcyclist or Cycle world to get some god info also. What year of bike are you looking at?

Your 04 GSXR 750 is faster than a new 675 if that matters to you at all.

You could also get a really nice liter bike for under 10K.

Good luck!

Faster doesn't bother me anymore. I have a wife and kid now so that is something I actually don't need :D thanks for the info

I use to ride, I had a '05 R6, '05 & '07 GSXR 600 over a span of 5 years and there aint nothing like riding a speed bike, but I gave up riding about 2 years ago because i lost 4 friends on bikes.. and I hate to be debbie downer, but you having a wife and a kid, not saying anything would happen to you, but before you buy one, think about your family bro, and the "what ifs."

Just my 2 cents, sorry if my troll'n here.

What year Daytona ?
I rode the 675 when it first came out and it was fun bike , very slim and with the right tire and suspension set up the bike would flick into corners easy

I still ride but track only 07 GSXR 750

2012 with 2800 miles on it:

Triumph Daytona 675R

I really wanna track... but I'm not as experienced as I would like. I was thinking of doing a few runs on mulholland snake (not fast of course) to get me back into it slowly.

thanks brother.

Buddy's of mine all have Triumphs, no issues at all, great bikes, but it will come down to comfort, I rode one of my buddies who is about the same size as me and it wasn't a good fit for me, it felt odd. Best think is to see if you like the seating position for you. I'm still liking the GSXR for seating the best of the sport bikes. However a Speed Triple will most likely be the next bike.

Speed Triples look sick. I am a bit on the short side 5'8" so I am worried about it since people say it sits tall. I'll have to check out the seat though. The guy doesnt want a rider unless he has cash in hand... so idk how thats gonna work since I plan on financing 4k-5k

LMAO @ "I'm worth more dead than alive. Yay life insurance!"

Honestly Chris, one of our boys at work got RAPED by a car 2 days ago... Bike in 600 pieces... He... Is alive, actually kinda ok... Fúcked up his hands, broke a few bones, but he'll make it...

Now... Dead is one thing, it hurts those that mean a lot to you... Surviving... Hurts you AND those around you, and god forbid you become a paraplegic... How the fúck and I gonna come down and smoke a cigar with you???
Honestly bro... Don't do it... Please...

zmanelite 02-07-2014 11:53 PM

That looks good man , a bit on the high side $$$ but cash in hand everything is negotiable

As for track , its a great place to hone your skills and even if you are a newb you can still ride the track ,all the skills you learn can transfer to a better rider on the street
also if you blow a corner or lowside you do not have to worry about getting run over or going off a cliff like in a canyon , the first ticket at the canyon will pay for a whole weekend at the track
If you ever decide to go let me know as i work with a Track org and im one of the instructors/control rider
