that's wat usually happens with my usps packages... their facility is no more than 5min away, but takes forever to get loaded onto the truck. :shakes head: |
or they throw the package that it goes over the truck and lands in the grass...and no one sees it for a few days. :ugh:
|
or lands in the snow and delayed for 6months until thaw... :ugh:

I did a full wash, clay and wax cycle this past Friday. I used a very nice but not very durable wax this time, and I want to add another coat before the cruise this weekend. There is already a fine layer of dust accumulated, so I am planning to do a full wash again before applying a second coat of wax.
I am assuming this situation is the reason behind rinseless wash products? Are the rinseless wash towels necessary? Or can you just use a regular microfiber towel or a drying towel as long as they are high quality? |
so cant wait for the teens to swing around to collect donations for their marching bands this summer. :D you know, to show off my modern boombox.
might even let the girl selling religion to check it out. :D hahaha. |

as for wax durability.... i use alcohol to remove old wax when i switch between polymer and natural wax.
if it's the same type, i just apply over the old. these days i only use spray wax/polymers on my hobby cars. :p |

these are the ones i use:
Micro Fiber Spray-On Car Wash Cloths, Set of 3 - Griot's Garage they are great because it has the longer threads on BOTH sides unlike most MF detailing towels. :D |
btw, i used griot's paint sealant to seal the bath tub. lol
it keeps the tub clean longer by 3x or more. :D hahaha. |

The stuff I used recently is a liquid wax and the depth... OMG :yum: |

By the way Ken, I saw a taffyapple at the local Target the other day with...I'm not kidding here....seven (7) bags of pork rinds in his cart. :barf:

on my Z and G, all i use is SpeedShine. :p and SprayOn Wax on the front bumper to make it real slick to remove bug easier. water beads like crazy on those cars which is  cause i use QD most of the time. i only wash my Z and G once a year at best using water... 99% of the time i go waterless if they are dirty. |
cant wait to wash the salt off my dd's... :ugh:
|
the snow removal contractor also sprinkled so much salt on our porch, i need to figure out a way to wash that off without damaging the foundation beams with salt.... :ugh:

I'm really tempted to try a sealant this Spring. Then I'll use the natural wax as an enhancement on top of the sealant. I've heard nothing but good things about the Prima Hydro. |
Quote:
btw, i use Prima Hydro spray on my dd. im going to try the meguiar's polymer spray this season. i forget which one it was but $30/gallon one. (it's saved in my amazon cart. lol) hydro is $60-70/gallon. |

yah, i do use SprayOn wax over polymers and it can look fantastic. it depends on the finish you want. on my silver cars, very shiny is fine, but if you do that on darker colors your car will suddenly become invisible. (very reflective). that's one reason why i say "No to Zaino." too plasticy shiny. :ugh: |
and all the f-king numbers you have to remember in their system.. :shakes head:
this day and age, one spray wax or spray polymer is plenty imho. keep the car detailed more frequently. |

which would you prefer:
3-4hrs each time to wax... lasts maybe one-2 months in real world. 5min each time to spray wax... lasts maybe 2-3wks in real world. prefer the latter and just keep applying. i dont have 3-4hrs to wax. my details usually take 16-20hrs each time. |

but yah, i completely agree. im totally happy that my Z and G are salt free and spotless in my garage. :p that $19K cash was well spent. considering there is no way i would ever be able to find another G in my G's near new condition. :D |

Yeah, shiny is good, but a mirror finish isn't what I want because it has no depth. I don't want to have to look really hard at the car to tell what color it is. A good wax should show off the color of the car in addition to providing a great shine. |
