Back to school, YARRR

Though I attended college part-time in the military, I'm getting a bit nervous going back to college full-time now with bunch of young guns. Not to mention the additional pressure of receiving exceptional grades to apply for USC.

You will be fine, just if they give you any crap use your gun and politely ask them to leave you alone LMAO. I was out of high school for 3 years before going into college I am now in college and I am doing okay. Start back on the 2nd.

Just hang in there and you'll do fine.

What are you trying to major in? I went to 'SC.

frost 08-29-2009 08:15 PM

Finance @ Marshall.

Though I'll still be applying into CLAS as an alternative.

That's what I did. The job MKT is tough for this, especially in this economy. I'd go MOR or Leventhal if I were you. At least there's stability for these. Good luck.

molamann 08-30-2009 03:18 PM

Well I'll most likely be taking over my mother's precious metal exchange business in the future and finance seems to be the most relevant major in regards to the business. I know for a fact that school's not necessarily going to teach me anything useful in running the business but the alumni connection and graduating from USC alone is worth it.

edeeZee 08-30-2009 09:21 PM

^hmmm...the "connections" huh?

Here's some hints, and I won't say no more. Other schools close by, like UCLA, get the same recruiters as USC for career fairs. The recruiters even told us so. It's like saying, "I'm going to shop at Bristol Farms for Coca Cola because the Coca Cola at Bristol Farms is better than one at Ralphs..."

USC is a great school, my alma mater...But don't get carried away by what you hear from outsiders, especially those who didn't attend.

molamann 08-30-2009 10:07 PM

Well I'm only interested in a undergrad business major and UCLA doesn't necessarily offer a undergrad business program other than their extremely competitive Econ major. In addition, I can't quite leave the Los Angeles area(been away for 4 years due to military service) so I'm pretty much do or die USC.
