the one im looking at separates at the base, so the long tube portion can come off when/if i do wide angle shots. this was verified by someone with a 36x zoom lens nikon point and shoot, no vignetting. :D

there is a bundle that comes with a rubber collapsable hood. that would work great for my purpose since im clumsy. :icon17:

cant wait to get my tripod. :excited: ... well, yes i can. i postponed getting one for 2yrs. lol
