Sorry but everyone Ive ever met that was given hand outs by their parents turned out to be a brat. If you dont buy it yourself, you dont ever really appreciate it.

My father has always had wealth, but Ive bought every single car since I was 16 without his help, I paid for my own college, and it taught me to appreciate all I have. When my kids are 16, Ill do the exact same thing.

i would just sell the car if i hated it so much. not sure why some folks continue to pay for things they dont like, and complain about making the same mistake on a daily basis of continuing to pay for something they hate.

like a whiner blaming everyone else while the problem is himself.

Obviously this would not be my first choice as a new car for a 16-year-old, but, who knows if the kid has had extensive training with high horsepower machinery and is very responsible? I know the odds are slim, but it could happen.

Sons and daughters of famous race car drivers are often given high performance vehicles to drive at a very early age. They obviously have been properly trained to handle this type of car though.

Please do. I'll give you my address to give them. I'd wreck Ashley Force like the fist of an angry God. It might even last longer than one of her 1/4 mile runs.

Completely disagree.

To this day my parents still spoil me.

Sure, I've bought and done things on my own (a home, my Z, vacations, etc.)

Do I not appreciate what I have? No, everything I have I appreciate and do my best to take care of. If/when I have kids, they will get everything (and more) that I received.

Sometimes I think I'm selfish/cheap when it comes to money, but it's more self preservation for things I want to do/have.

Of course I still ask for expensive stuff from my parents for Xmas/Birthday too. ;)

LOL that's seasoned ground pork meatball in the pic. My aunt runs a little sandwich shop... buy 5 get 1 free. Combo sandwich is under $4, and $5 gets you drink and chips. On weekends she makes won ton soup or beef stew. She used to run a full restaurant, but she got pretty tired managing it over the years. I started shedding some pounds with this cheap sandwich diet haha.

They started baking moon cakes again for the past couple of years. It's something my grandpa is famous for:

kenchan 10-04-2013 11:14 AM

ground pork it is!

Ill 10-04-2013 11:14 AM

I saved up for a year and a half to be able to afford my Z. Every hour I worked at my miserable job, meat department at Walmart :ugh2: went right to savings after I took care of my bills. I originally was planning on buying a c6 Vette, after I test drove a few my mind quickly changed. It has been about a year and a half since I signed the papers and took my Z home, I was 21 at the time.

After working hard and still saving every penny, I was able to purchase all of the mods in my sig by myself. I see a bunch of c6s everywhere in my town and still love the car, but I am ultimately happy I picked the Z.

Driving from the dealership to my house knowing I did it all myself was the most rewarding feeling I have ever had.
