Its not critical. The recommended interval change is 30K. I changed mine out for Redline Synthetic at around 15K miles. Search around and you will find plenty of information :tup:

Differential fluid is pretty nasty stuff regardless of how old it is. It stinks bad and you want to avoid prolonged exposure to your skin.

I tried messing with it yesterday, you cant just stick a big piece of metal in, there's no way you can, without pulling off the plastic piece the hood latches go in to, so it looks like I'll have to cut the metal into 2 pieces and slide it through the grill to apply it.

Fellas, im done with my block off plate, it turned out very nice. I bought the velcro extreme and laid it on the oil cooler, then I cut 2 separate pieces of tin, 5 inches tall, about 12 inches wide, I painted them black, velcro'd them, and now Im all set for cold temps.
