I see Mu got you headed in the right direction with a block off plate

I saw someone post that an old racer's trick was to use duct tape to block off as much or as little needed to get temps where you want them. Is there anything duct tape can't do? Nope! :icon17:

lol I don't think I would recommend it unless it really is a track car...

A piece of sheet metal (aluminum) is probably easiest. As Mr. Onz mentioned, he put together one in no time with a sheet of aluminum, some tin snips, and velcro

eastwest2300 09-30-2013 08:02 AM

Hey what would you recommend as far as when its needed, 40 degrees and colder, you think?

Pintsize725 09-30-2013 08:17 AM

Good morning kids. The countdown to getting sick is officially on! There are two people in my office and at least one in an adjacent office spreading germs.

Flying first class helps take the edge off the pain and tormentof travel.

I would definitely think 40F, and possibly even more like 45-50F The thing to do is check it around 50F and see how the engine oil temps look. If they're still getting to 180F without having to driving spirited, then you're probably ok. Proceed to check it at 45F and then again at 40F until you notice the engine oil having trouble getting fully warm (~180F). Note the temperature at which that begins to be a problem and then plan on using your block off plate any time it gets colder than that

Unless first class gets me to my destination faster than coach, my cheap *** will continue to sit in the back. Unless it's a flight over 4 hours, then I want the legroom.
