Morning everyone. TGIF!
Dropped the Z off at Cobb Tuning just a moment ago for the header install. I have a feeling the next 24 hours are going to be LONG. |

Last time it cleared up with a new tank of gas. Maybe I'll hit up Chevron or Shell and get some of their overpriced gasoline vs. QT/Fry's (usually they share with Circle K, which I think is Shell too, no?). Quote:

Since my wife is at work and no friends around :ugh: I discovered that it's much quicker to book a cab with an iPhone app than to call those MF's directly. :icon14: |

I'm pretty sure it's the O2 sensor getting too much of a reading like before. Chris told me about putting some steelwool or something in there to limit the gases, I may try that. Once my warranty is out I'm going to get the UpRev tune so that should help keep it away. |
I firmly believe once you go with HFCs, you're gonna throw codes every now and than.. I did the steel whool in the J-bungs of my FIs, im not sure if it helped or not.

I'd like to go with the test pipes/straight pipes whatever they're called anymore, but I want to be able to pass emissions (I should be able to with the HFCs) and don't want any drone.
I haven't researched them at all, but I assume they'd contribute some drone at freeway speeds...? |
Although, if you did what I did, and initially used impact tools to get the oem cats off, you may have messed up an o2 sensor.. what a bitch that was.

I was told it was common with this nissan engine..:icon14: |
Nah, we made sure to remove them and hide them before we did anything with the exhaust. They weren't damaged at all.
Though, the one dealership I took it to swears up and down that we lengthened the O2 sensor wire... but when I asked to speak with the tech they were "leaving for the day". I won't be going back to that dealership. I only did, because they were close by. They're also the dealership that told me last Oct. that the 2013 models weren't out yet, yet there was one sitting just outside their showroom. :rofl2: |

And if I don't let the HFCs warm up or "settle" or whatever, I get a very loud metallic sound like it's vibrating. So I can't ever leave somewhere and show off, because it has an awful sound. I guess that's a good thing...? |
Yeah, i fvcked up one o2 sensor and it was a major pain in the azz.. wow. NEVER AGAIN.

It even does it if I run to the the store, come back out - it's like it has to expand or whatnot. It's weird. |

Thats what i'd do. |

I do need to get under there and tighten everything, but I don't have a lift. I may take it to a local shop that's reputable. |

dude, if you've pulled the oem cats off, the hard work is done.. everything else is easy.
