Same kind of dude that tailgates when no one's around.

Its a human instinct. People do this because it gives them a sense of security. I can't wait till I see a buggati park alone so that I can park my astro van next to it.

leighspped 09-23-2013 09:11 AM

They could work at whatever store you are going in and that is their normal spot? Just maybe. Looks like they were seeking the little bit of shade that tree was putting off. Although they could of parked a few spots to the left and not been right next to you. Or they could just be an a--hole.

my wife parked out in EBF and was coming out to her car and seen some dude taking a picture and she was like wtf? This @ssshole parked so close to her (driver door to driver door)that he had to climb out his passenger seat. Then thought it was funny so took pics of it. Then she asked him wtf his problem was and he said she shouldn't be parked out that far. (really?) She reemed him a new one and he climbed back in over his passenger seat to move his car so my wife could get in hers while his boyfriend tried to explain to my wife that "he was just trying to teach you a lesson"
She said, "what lesson, that I can climb across my passenger seat because some @sshole parked like a D***?"
Mean people suck!

HelluvaG 09-27-2013 08:30 AM

this bothers the hell outta me too. the fear of getting dings or scratches on your car from other cars parking next to you is really annoying. that and getting curb rash, bird crap, tree sap, water from sprinklers, the weather. sheesh so many things to worry bout with your car lol

So parking far away, even if parked properly is now rude and inconsiderate to everyone else.

I just pray that when it does happen, they are being smart asses, but that at least they were careful opening their doors and didn't intentionally ding us.

In that picture you posted, it's the shade provided by the small tree that draws the van owner to park right next to you. Had you parked one space over to the left, under the other shade, you'd each have a spot open in between your cars.
