Beware Vendor
 

I tried to purchase an Amuse exhaust from Z1 performance, not to be confused with Z1 motorsports. Needless to say after 6 months and being giving the continuous run around it was never delivered. I asked for a refund and they didnt even try to argue and said they would cut me a "check" here we are almost 2 weeks later and no check and now they wont return phone calls or emails. NO ONE buy anything from them. Was the most unprofessional "company" I've ever dealt with just wish i had known sooner...

did you dispute your creditcard company or paypal, etc?

tried to dispute through credit card and they basically told me there was nothing they can do. going to have to fill out a police report tomorrow.

If that's the same Z1 Performance that has Z1auto.com, they have received quite a few bad reviews on various forums over the last few years. :(

Just a few suggestions:

Do a little research before sending any money. Google the vendor's name and/or telephone number. Contact their local BBB. Ask on a forum if they are reliable.

When the transaction is completed, post a review. If they screwed up, warn us. If they did a good job, spread the love.

Use a credit card or Paypal "regular" payment. It's much more difficult to dispute a charge on a debit card and a Paypal donation is gone forever.

Buy from sponsors/members of this forum. If they screw up, we can all go after them. Example.

it appears the OP used credit card? i too am not sure why his creditcard company (or bank issuing) would not allow disputing... cause major creditcard places have a special dept just to track down fraud. :confused:

I went through the same situation with Adam @ Z1's run around excuses. However; after 3 months of waiting... I cancelled my purchase with them. Funny how they charge my cc the day of purchase but failed to deliver. I was on my 3rd month of waiting due to their run around excuses, good reputation on the forums over the years and reading posts of members saying: "he will deliver eventually," so I waited and waited hoping to see my tracking number and never did. Glad I didn't wait any longer b/c AMEX told me after 90 days, they can't help me.

Z1 refunded the money as fast as they took it but HAD I waited over 90 days due to their positive credentials stated above... I'd be in total loss and one pissed off motherfcker but I blame myself for taking peoples' word on forum, email and phone calls and not going with my gut instinct. I see this trend growing where buyers are actually waiting pass the 90 day period and vendors win,they lose. There is a couple of thread about this over on my350z. Not just Z1 but a lot of good vendors has gone sour so be careful when buying!!!!

been pretty bummed so havnt been on the forums lately but it was debit card and I believe thats why bank cant/wont help. He says hes going to refund the money but im sure ill be waiting months to get it if I ever even receive. Spoke with local pd and hes supposed to be sending check with tracking number tomorrow since first one got "lost in the mail" which i find very hard to believe.. so if nothing tomorrow will be filing police report

There should be some forum guy's from New York that could pay them a visit! It would be worth a plane ticket to visit those guy's and walk in with the Police. Shops like that should be run out of business:shakes head:.

hey guys i actually received the check yesterday (was here thursday but usps is a joke) and i deposited it and the money was posted this morning. Ive already placed another order for the exhaust with Mark at 370ztune. hes been very helpful throughout the entire thing and i would recommend them to anyway.

Turns out the check i received bounced and hes giving every excuse to why and keeps coming up with new reasons he cant send the money right now. Dont make the mistake of dealing with this guy or his company.

should have said certified check/money order only.....

got cashiers check today overnighted from him. shouldnt bounce since its cashiers check but we'll find out monday or tuesday.

FINALLY have my money back. at the end of the day I don't think hes a bad guy just a terrible business person. would not recommend buying through them to anyone but he did finally make it right and covered in costs I incurred due to the bounced check.
