Detergents, soaps, solvents, and high pressure water will cause the coating to fail. :(

If bug guts don't dessolve the coating it could work.

I'm guessing that if it worked on cars they would have mentioned it. But maybe they just haven't thought to try it on a car. I'm not going to be the guinea pig. :)
