It could be much worse! I could probably rattle off the names of at least ten towns just between Houston and New Orleans along I-10 to avoid at all costs. Then there are the scenic towns of Gary, IN and Detroit.

Enough city bashing.

Have a safe trip mr. onzedge and a great day all! :tiphat:

:icon18: hopping metropils' right there!!
we used to stay in Birmingham MI, just outside of Detroit off 8 Mile Road. WOW! very nice area...within walking distance to a cool revitalized downtown...it was actually kinda fun

I had a feeling it was the solenoid from my boost controller because I have it mounted to the metal surrounding the brake booster, this is in line with the area the noise is coming from. Anyhow, an easy test was to turn the boost controller off, thus bypassing the solenoid, good news, no noise. So... I have three options, 1. Live with the ticking noise when I use the boost controller, 2. Move the solenoid, or 3. Isolate the solenoid from the metal in the existing location.

In other news I ran over a piece of tire debris on the highway. I had to straddle it to minimize potential damage. Good news is the body work is a-ok, bad news is it hit something under the car. I'll need to get under the car to investigate but I believe everything will be ok. The car sounds and drives the same otherwise

:icon14: I am sure you posted more informatinlater in the thread but I am trying to catch up here!! gawd. what a bunch of :postwhore: 's:tup:

Been there, done that. Left the grille on to "warm-up", it started a grease fire. I look outside and there are flames shooting out of the grille and the thermometer is pegged at the 700° max.

Once it coooled down, i noticed that part of the aluminum bottom tray had melted away! I was just lucky the propane bottle didn't go off.

:icon18: YOU GUYS!!! LOL! OMG. :p

I would touch that up using factory touchup paint and using a tooth pick with the tip mashed a little to use as applicator. :)

even though our hoods are aluminum, it can still corrode if left out in the open. biggest worry for me is for the corrosion to start UNDER the surrounding paint and paint starts flaking off. :eekdance: ive had that happen on my older dd with metal hood. ofcourse i touched it up and placed clearbra over the area so the paint didnt flake completely off. :icon17:

good to hear you were able to remove the cone marks off the wheels.
wax on wheels is also a great preventative measure. :)

It was only a matter of time until someone turned this into a business: DK's - Utah's Premier Dip Shop!
Capitalizing on people who are too lazy to do the easiest of D.I.Y. driveway mods. Brilliant!
