I found more scratches (likely from the cat(s) at the tuner's place when I left it there for a few days) washing the Z yesterday :shakes head:

But it's ok; I've come to accept those things. It's a DD and it's going to get dinged. I just take pride in keeping it looking as sharp as I possibly can. In fact, today, I should be receiving a drill adapter and some pads for polishing out those scratches I can't fix by hand

That reminds me, I need to go pick up my touch-up paint.

I had nothing to do yesterday and still didn't go do this. :shakes head: I hate forgetting things.

touch up paint is pretty useless imo... that being said, I bought some on the forum last year (I just haven't used it yet :icon17:)

Is it? I dunno, I just wanted to fill in the couple of chips I have and then a minor scratch on the rear bumper.

You old man, you :bowrofl:

I just meant it was useless to me because I haven't used it :icon17: I have a nice scratch on the rear bumper as well. But I have waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy more than a couple of chips lol. Just make sure you clean the chips out before applying (less is more). And I don't think the touch up paint is recommend if you're ever planning to try Dr. Colorchip or something like that.

Okay.

Do I just fill the tiny chips, then wipe away? I've never properly fixed a chip. :icon17:

that sucksarse, mr. jar. it's already bad enough that you had to go to the dealer with all the worries. :shakes head: ms.pint has a 'hate' thread just for such issues. :icon17:

yah, dd's will get scratched no matter wat. it's just the way it is so you're handling it real good.

some folks are anal about their cars yet, use it as dd. that is just incorrectly done.

lol I haven't either, and it's been awhile since I've actually researched... I think so, you typically don't want to have any paint outside the chip unless you are doing a real fix (in which case you would remove some clear around the chip and feather the paint to match and then reclear the area that needs it)

I'm hoping I don't have to use that thread, but if I do, I'll save the major problems for it :icon17:

I've got the tools and I'm willing to fix the scratches. The chips, I just make sure to do really fast when I'm washing the car, so I don't have to pay much attention to them :rofl2: I'm anal about some stuff, but there's only so much anger I can have for things I can't control. I've weighed the pros and cons, and decided that I would drive the Z even if it were gutted and banged up but still drove the same :D

yah, i mean right now, we got the mof-king landrape artsypants doing damage to my fit. :shakes head: it's the life of a dd. i dont care so much. as long as the car looks okay from a few feet away, that's fine with me.

yah, if you're talking about dr.chip, it appears to be so. you get this special mix touch up that you dab like a 2yr old with a paint brush, dry, then wipe away the excess using some solvent + towel they provide.

but i read it's only good for a 3footer so i decided not to use it on my G.
my G already looks good from 3ft even though i has very tiny chips from use.

if i hadn't dd'ed her last year, she would've not had those tiny chips nor the landrape fawker leaf blow jobs, and salt corrosion on my bolts.

sure i got treated well on the street, some girls even blew kisses, i really enjoyed my commute, but i rather had my fit earlier, and kept my G inside safe.
