amazing, just amazing. Music, the scenery, you can tell when musicians perform for the love of the art rather than for the money. Truly inspiring stuff.

exactly. my mom is a piano teacher so i have quite a respect for good musicians. i love all types but it's great to see someone taking good music, turning it on it's ear and adding a nice twist.

All hate against rap aside, good music is good music, and when you find it you give it it's due respect.

Yeah, I mean i like hip-hop rap because of its beats, its music. The lyrics nowadays are starting to be a-b-c nursery rhymes, talking about money, hos, cars, clothes. Nothing wrong with it, but it makes the music shallow, which is why I can see many people hate it. But then again I don't listen to rap to inspire to be one of them, I like it because to me...its pleases my ears. As a drummer I love the 808's and bass in rap and hiphop songs.

Now music like the one posted by the Piano Guys I can respect because it is true musical talent. Not many people can play an instrument let alone play something with passion and heart. I guess it doesn't take much skill to rap, however, it does take skills to produce beats (which I do as well) and lyrical rappers such as Lupe Fiasco still do exist.

At the end of the day do I want to be listening to the Piano guys on my way to work, the gym, or in the car? No, much rather be bumping some Drake or Lil Wayne as it sets the mood for me. Its all personal preference, but like you mentioned just because I listen to rap doesn't mean I don't appreciate other good-talented music when I hear it.

I couldn't agree more with the part about enjoying good beats as a drummer myself I'm right there with you. I give credit where credit is due. I don't like Rap as a Genre because it doesn't appeal to me. Due to what you said about the lack of lyrical talent (for most) and the only 5 topics they ever talk about. :icon14:

Hip-Hop, which I would consider a sub-genre of rap, has many talented lyricists. Lupe is one of them for sure. I loved the work he did with Mike Shinoda on the Fort Minor album. That is an awesome album.

I'll agree anyone who can plan a instrument as good as they do, and have the intensity that they do when they play. No matter what that instrument it... Hell even someone beatboxing, or battling off the top of their head. For sure is in their own way creating something from inspiration. So I :tiphat: to them.

And I'll also agree with you that when you're doing whatever, sometimes you're just in the mood for a certain song/artist/genre and rap sometimes is one of them. Usually when it's a party or something or I just wanna laugh. But even still. It happens.
