As to what I've recently listened to: I just saw King Khan & BBQ Show live -- great show!!!!! But his stuff with the Spaceshits is even better... Also amazing, his performances with the shrines -- Three Hairs and Your Mine, find it! Amazing album :excited: Khan's a cool dude. He was spinning the Pagans and wearing a 'coonskin cap while the opening bands were setting up  |
(still buying stuff on amazon that might improve my libraby butt, mostly, the little notes that make up the muzak...)
today: possibly the new millennium's JT: david wilcox and his: "the very best of"...he's quite the wordsmith... for those of us that had parents that hated each other thru the years or gathered after divorce for a holiday meal, check out "covert war." and, his BRILLIANT, tribute, soliloquy to chet baker (helps if one knows the "score", butt, still heartfelt...) "chet baker's unsung swan song")---'my old addiction'... |
in my 'evenin' tradition...listenin' to muzak after my tiggies spring b-game an' fixin' sum thin' to eat before bed/nap: loggin's an' messina's seminal debut, "sitting' in."
crushes the typically wonderful, bountiful, memorable sounds of such an exceptionable time in us older guy's lives... great musicianship within this band. saw them many times in concert here. butt: you buys it (lp) for the top radio play: "vahevala" and find the other treasures... ESP. the anti-war tome: "same old wine"...then, just as great, almost: "rock and road mood." no bad songs here. if really interested: kenny's "celebrate me home" and esp., jimmy's "oasis" if you remember or consider or are in a new, budding romance...worked romantically for me in the early '80's---timeless, still... |
Right now? I'm listening to 2 ladies down the hall sharing Walmart horror stories! 5 minutes til off the clock. On the drive home I think I'll put on some Yelawolf! I'm in one of those moods today. :)

if'n you were older, perhaps, vintage STEPPENwolf, loud, would more than suffice...

on a tip researching amazon for old 3 dog night's bestest recordings: japan's label came up and i ordered 3 of 4 titles. unfortunately, "it ain't easy" at $38 was sold out...butt!!!, for $18 and for $8 "suitable for framing/naturally", respectfully, were...great, bright, clear loud sound...slightly better'n their '14 upgrade...
|
...oh my...as is my wont...puttin' on loud tunes from my 'puter whilst i make din-din after my det. tiggies game and my heinies...
the incredible, '71 masterpiece of davey crosby, with the great title: "if i could only remember my name"...one of my top 10 all-time desserted isle discs...simply no way to describe the total tonal impact of this disc in this brief tone... never done drugs except for underage drinking, butt, check out "cowboy movie" for those that did... BEAUTIFUL MUSIC THROUGHOUT...GUARANTEED...and, for younger folks, what moms an' pops shoulda bin listening' to... |

as is my won't, most recently, with sum extra elbow room to yet again try to improve sonic clarity an' sound: eagles: "desperado"...from japan...kickin' some louder ***...
my thoughts go to constructing a single CD with parts this disc/elton's masterpiece: "tumbleweed" (w/indian sunset) and davey crosby's: "cowboy movie"...just a thought butt, great music to try and capture my adopted SW home for many years removed from deeetroit... great music, great romantic, rough-house livin' back then... |
The Doors are awesome. Part of what I love about the Misfits is that Danzig sounds just like Jim Morrison, but he's singing about murdering people
My latest listens.. Prepare to pogo at 2:36 and... Just for fun, compare and contrast. I love Joan Jett, but you can't outdo the Stooges. You just can't. Also recently got into these guys... GLUE So. Fucking. Killer. Madman punk rock. Sadly, their EP isn't as good as this demo... oh well... |
yesterday: another very recent amazon treasure-hunt find: davey crosby's (w/half the dead---jerry/phil/mickey) "live at the matrix, dec. '70"...includes early 'cowboy movie'/and 'laughing' (11 mins.) from the upcoming masterpiece "if only...' ('71)...and, 'triad'...nice catch...
one of my all-time favorite hippies...arguably, best male voice in rock... |
^^^ Speaking of the Dead, have you ever heard any of Jerry Garcia's solo stuff? It's really good.
