Destruction Unit -- w the late, great Jay Reatard at the helm.
Grooveshark - Free Music Streaming, Online Music This is a killer fucking album, BTW. Find it, play it, smash things. Annnnd: The Urinals (AKA: 100 Flowers). Marvelously underrated, generally unknown, and broadly influential band. Behold. Oh yeah ... and finally, A Band of Gypsies, featuring the mighty Jimi Hendrix Haven't listened to this in a while, but was going through my head. Now it can ricochet through your skull too... Nina Simone - Love Me or Leave Me Ahhhhhh Lee Scratch Perry... good for i and i -- don't be a bumbaclot. Give it a listen and reason a likkle pon it. |

I see you celebrate all of their work :)
I find myself liking REM and loathing Michael Stipe... its the same with Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Corgan, now that I think about it... Might have shared this already, but here's a little Sonny Rollins... also on heavy rotation of late. And, just listened to a few moments ago: I am deeply sorry to inform all who may be visiting this thread and have never cared for Iggy Pop: You are also probably a total pill. Improve your life and embrace it. Yah, it became a theme song for a stupid cruise ship (vile) and inextricably linked to the film version of Trainspotting (fair enough), but then again: "I'm worth a million in prizes, with my torture film, drive a GTO, wear a uniform, got a government loan... of course I've had it in my ear before..." Testify. |

sorry, as always, that thee old F*** in me can't finger out how to do the 'net-thingie'...
however: being older means, perhaps, having the experience to enhance your listing pleasure should you go along for the ride... my today 'discovery' came via amazon a few days ago whenst i noticed one of my all-time fave 'go-to-pick-me-uppers' great 80's 'jazz-soul-vocal-production' masterpiece by al jarreau "L IS FOR LOVER" was remastered w/addy songs... what a delight for listeners, even w/o my memories attached---this is an exceptional album---perfect !!!...give it a gander...it's GREAT!!! |
