Wow man, so sorry to hear this.
take this as a life lesson learned. As far as getting a Z now, you're screwed. 1) Either wait 3-5 years then trade it in. 2) Trade it in now and take the loss. 3)Start playing the lottery and hope to win big! At least 3-5 years from now the next generation Z will be out !!!! U can get that !! Think positive dude.... |
I would drive the snot out of that car. You can have a lot more fun with that than a Z. Much cheaper to mod as well and you can get a lot of power from the mods too.
Not really seeing the downside here. You'll be fine. |

Like I said, just mod it and enjoy it |

Honestly, if I had a brand spankn' new Stang when I was 21, the last thing on my mind would be buyer's remorse. It's a great car. Enjoy it for a bit, keep it clean, then sell it privately. Trading it in will dig you deeper in the hole. You'll probably take a hit, but you never know. Someone out there may be looking for that exact same car but will be able to get it for a bit less than the dealership.

im not too big on that mechanical antenna, but other then that i think it's a nice looking car.
especially for a 21yr old, that one mass of an achievement. well, if you bought it cash. :icon17: |
You do with your car and money what you wish, but if you're truly regretting the Mustang and fully intend to trade or sell it in the short term to get back on track with a Z (see what I did there? eh? eh?), I wouldn't go adding mods to the Mustang. Not only are you sinking more money into it, but it usually won't help the resale value, imo.
Keep it clean, keep it pristine, make your payments, and keep it listed here and there in case you get lucky and can offload it for what's left on the term. There's a reason people only suggest that you buy new if you intend to keep it for plenty of years: because you lose money otherwise. Someone brought up the Mustang is better argument. Rut Roh! Now, if you were in a gt500 or a boss.... :) (In all seriousness, all of the above are great cars.) |

Glad your remorse is gone. Mines gettin there. Ill be happy when im trading in for a new z35 |
yea i know modding it wont help resale or anything. Itll be mostly cosmetic stuff to make it not an eye sore to me.
Still incredibly tempted to see what i can get for a trade in on this. Ill wait 6 months, let insurance run off, credit go up a bit, save a bit and hopefully have a z! And i know trading it in will make me lose money. But with the new s550 comin out, ill take a drop in resell price quite bit like the z34 when the z35 comes out. so either way im losing money, right? Just one way i have the car i want, the other i dont. Or am i just not seeing something here? |
Let me know what you get on a trade in offer.
I could use a Race Red mustang in my garage. |

haha Got tomorrow off so im checkin something then :D |
Hey Pitch, I'm an old fart. Been around the horn a couple of times. IMHO... If you can pay two payments a month, that would be great. The cost of interest is always greatest at the front end of a loan. Just be sure the additional payment is designated "for principal only". Check your statement often. This way you are building equity in the car, and getting closer to a Z. I hate being in debt, and paying loads of interest . I have always paid off loans early.
I just kinda stumbled into this 370Z thing. Never had another sports car. But, WOW what a fun machine. And it was made in Tenn! Best of Luck |
So i washed and waxed my car, and for some reason i fell in love with it. Ill def be able to wait 2 years i think for the new Z. Throw some cosmetic and suspension mods on it and thats it. Nothin too crazy!
