I am considering getting a DSLR. Currently I just have a half decent digi cam Canon Power Shot that takes ok pictures but nothing fancy......

I have a DSLR, a hybrid DSLR, 2 point and shoots, and a HD digital video recorder. My iPhone is used daily for pictures and video because it's glued to my hand. The DSLR is out on special occasions, the hybrid is on the kitchen and used when I want a slightly better photo than what my phone will take... Basically, don't get wrapped up in forking out big money for a DSLR. I recommend something small and compact, that way you're more likey to use it.
