They aren't required to get you to safety. Only to have systems in place to alert you to potential danger. So they're complying with code. :inoutroflpuke:

They tell us we can't leave when that message comes on.

We always have to wait until someone (I don't know who, probably a little office gnome) tells us whether we need to leave the building or go back to work. I think they're back there flipping a coin and nothing is ever really wrong.

Hell, UPS rejected a package from us and instead of bringing it into our lobby and telling us, they threw it under a stairway.

Someone called in a suspicious package and the bomb squad apparently showed up - never had a warning, no evacuation. :facepalm:

I feel safe.
