mr.alcheng- there is a vsa (kinda like VDC) software re-program recall on my '12. the issue is the slip threshold is set too high for when cheap dumbarse mofo's buy junk tires like falken, and the car slips too much before the system is triggered. :shakes head:

with my DWS in the winter, and RE760's in the summer, VSA RARELY turns on. i dont want honda lowering the threshold as it will interupt me while the car is going through a fast turn or something. :ugh2: i have no tpms in my summer set and this prohibits vsa to be turned off.

so im going to hold out as long as possible. :icon17: unless ofcourse, honda wants to pay for my Z's steering lock. :icon17: :ugh2:

Not yet, still need to buy the putty and fix the 3rd piece before painting. Should be able to do that tomorrow and then paint shortly after. Hoping for install this coming weekend. :excited:

That's crappy to hear, Ken. Very strange and lame that you can't turn VSA off if you don't have TPMS installed (did I read that right?).

:icon18: See if you can get Honda to install one of their ESCL that won't crap out on you :icon17:

It's not installed yet. There was a scratch in one of the side pieces, and when I ran my thumb over it, a piece fell off leaving a hole. She is getting some of that putty you recommended so we can fill the hole before painting that piece. The install will then follow

mr.jar - excellent! that is one of my favorite tools in my arsenal.

also great for cleaning blades. like after cutting tape with your scissors or vinyl you get that gunk on the tip of the blade. a quick with with that stuff on a paper towel... :woot:

When I played golf on Friday, I actually unwrapped the plastic and removed price tags from a lob wedge that I purchased for myself in Dec 2011 (that tells you how long it's been since I last played). This weekend I tried to remove the gunk from the stickers that were on the shaft, but the stuff I have just wasn't getting it done. I'll try this stuff on it

I can't wait until I get new clubs!

Summer is going to be testing each brand/style, then Xmas my parents are going to be buying me a new set.

Yep, still a spoiled, only child 'til this day! :D

JARblue 04-29-2013 04:16 PM

I keep a gas can of old gas that does wonders cleaning up dirty, old metal objects

that is actually a great idea!

only downside i know of is that it stinks, and the rag could suddenly burst into flames on a hot day. so i usually douce such rags with water, then seal them up in plastic bags before disposal. :D

I keep my rags until they're absolutely destroyed :icon17: I have a shed out back that gets pretty hot, but keeps them out of direct sunlight. I've never really been too worried. Gasoline is notoriously difficult to light without precise AFR. I've been doing it in the Texas summer for a few years now, and my father did the same most of his lifetime without any problems.

that's good to know! thanks for the info.

the more it stinks, i fear the easier to explode my taffyapple bins :icon17:

i do have a fire trash box though.

:icon18: If you're preparing them for disposal, there's absolutely no harm in dousing them in some water  I store the ones to be reused in a metal bucket in the shed. Yes, they smell, but so do the lawn mover, weed eater, gas cans, and paint supplies :icon17:

yah, vsa can not be turned off when tpms error light is lit. it's very cumbersome cause most folks have winter sets that dont run tpms due to extra cost. fit folks are mostly poor. i see threads that make me sad sometimes. but anyway, yah, it's a stupid safety feature.

sounds like ms.pints all :excited: for this weekend!
