He's in Edmonton

Edmonton. About a foot has fallen since about 4am this morning. It's coming down so hard that you can't see across the street.

On the highway south of Edmonton, there has been a "multi-vehicle" accident/pile-up. Hospitals nearest to the crash have gone into red alert and have been told to expect "many" injuries. No fatalities reported yet. And of course, the major highway has been completely closed.

What a country.

Its amazing how much we got since this morning.

I'm worried about the big accident on Hwy 2 south of Leduc.

Yeah I heard about it on the radio. I was just on the HWY between the airport and 50th street in leduc and there is next to 0 traffic on it. No one is getting through that accident a little south of Leduc. You cant tell there is even highway there, its all just blowing snow. The plows cannot keep up. 3 Lanes of traffic and everyone is single file doing about 50-60.

Alberta Health Services confirms that 300 people were injured — four seriously — in a multi-vehicle pileup on Highway 2 south of Edmonton that occurred during a spring snow storm which caused havoc on area highways.

Patients are being transported to hospitals in Edmonton, Red Deer, Leduc, St. Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Devon, Wetaskiwin, Stony Plain, Lamont and Camrose.

AHS says that EMS staff will treat and take the most seriously hurt patients to hospitals; the rest will be transported by bus

The number of vehicles involved in the pile-up has not been confirmed

You wont see those for awhile, city is going to use the excuse that it is still cleaning snow. I heard on the news that they expect this storm pushed them back 3-4 weeks on their spring cleaning... argh.

Time to buy a sweeper and a pothole repair truck!

Bah, ill just buy some wings for the car and fly it everywhere. It would be less work.
