Any forum software gurus?
There is another forum I am on, and sponsor on (corvette forum), but every time I go on, it says I last logged on yesterday at 1:30pm. It has been going on for a couple years now, and no one there knows why. It's so annoying that I cant see new posts since last time, unless last time was 1:30, that I only use the site for pm's now. I have logged off of every computer I have owned in the last 4 years, but something is still apparently logging me in every day at 1:30. WTF?

It's a long shot, but try clearing your browser cookies. My 2nd guess involves deleting and recreating your account.
|
yeah, cookies cleared several times. I don't know if I can delete and recreate the same name?
|
I'd try checking the FAQ for the forum software. If you don't find an answer there, see if there is a forum forum where you can ask your question - TikiWiki, phpBB, &c have very helpful forums.

Which browser/version are you using? Have you tried other browsers...and if so, what is the behavior?
|
I'd try another browser (Chrome) and see if you're still getting the same messages. Session data is always stored in your cookies. Times would be based on the clock on your system. Is the date (especially the year) and time on your computer correct?

Does the date of your last login stay constant or just the time? If the date is not changing, it sounds like it could be a database (SQL?) problem - that field in your record could be locked.
If the date is changing, then I am lost. Timestamps are usually one number/string and not split into date and time fields. Maybe your database entry is locked. Can you change other personal settings (e-mail addrs, sig, &c)? The forum operator should be able to find an error in the logs when the system tries to update your login timestamp. May need to turn on database error logging. It doesn't sound like a browser problem to me. The last login time should be forum server time (+ TZ offset) and not based on your home system's clock. |
It happens no matter what computer and what browser I am using. Its something on their end I'm sure. its always 1:30 pm the day prior, unless I logged on after 1:30, then its the correct time until the next 1:30 pm, to which it resets itself. Its almost as if something or someone is ghost logging me in every day.

Sounds more like a flaky cron (or similar) job. Is there a cron job that runs everyday at 1330? |
