I haven't been on here much in the past few days, I got hit with a nasty bug and was laid up in bed for a few days. I hate calling out sick for work and I will usually just work through a cold or flu, but I had to take off two days to fight this crap off. I'm back at work now and it's down to a cold, so I should be good in the next day or two. Mrs. Pint yelled at me for not being active enough on the forum, so I'll try to make my presence known more often hahaha :bowrofl: :rofl2:

So, seriously...
Should I be yanking a fuse or something because of this steering lock thing you guys are talking about?

LMBmikeZ 02-28-2013 12:30 PM

No just cut the black wire connected to your battery :roflpuke2: then everything is fixed

Depends on your disposable income.

Options,
  1. Replace defective steering lock with new eventually defect steering lock ~$550-1400
  2. Buy a plug and play harness which features a disconnected power feed for the SLU ~$50
  3. Cut the power feed wire at the SLU ~ free
  4. Remove the fuse from the IPDM/ER that feeds the SLU (and who knows what else) ~ free

Guess I'd better do a search on this topic.
I've been blissfully ignorant of this issue since buying my car.

But, I need to know which oil is the best, if the BRZ can beat a 370, if I need an oil cooler, if I should pull my fuse, what I need to look for when I buy another 370, etc etc. However will I find these out Ken?!

I go there.. but not too many threads get my attention, the most recent one is that dealersh!t thread, it's lots of funny stories in there.

As long as the thread doesn't need advise:ugh2: or personal opinions:wtf2:, then it's ok... :icon17:

:hello:

honestly, I still don't understand why people just go and pull the fuse, it's easy, won't void the warranty and the most important thing is, it works...

why don't just do it?

:ugh2: IDK it needs to be done because it is unnecessary and could leave you stranded!

you know the most ridicules thing I saw in some threads is people still saying they will wait for a recall.. :icon14:

dude, it's been 7 years and the SL failure won't cause any road dangers, why would you hope for a recall...?? :icon14:

I feel bad when hear people got stranded by the SL failure but never feel sorry for those... :icon18:
