it's suppose to remove latency from the throttle input.

I think it'll be more useful if you do lots of tracking....

Yes, otherwise the adhesive can screw up the clear coat....

Hope they can have it touch-up :icon17:

Just spoke to the guy. They can touch it up but of course there's no clear over the area to protect it. Otherwise I'm looking at having to pay to sand the area down again and fix it. :shakes head:

I really hate this car.

mr.alcheng- hummm.... i just want to rid the latency.

my G has almost no latency even though it's drive by wire... my Z has like 9-10ms.

do you have nail polish? you can use enamel clearcoat once the base coat dries completely. :)

i'd find a local artist that has experience with air brush. he/she can touch up using plastic model paint for cheap.

have them touch it up and put on Ventureshield when it's the right time, it worth the money..

ms.pint - you can also buy automotive clearcoat touchup bottles at your local autoparts stores for pretty cheap.

if it's a large area you can get automotive grade clear from places like below in rattle cans, pens, jars, etc.

Touch Up Paint from PaintScratch.com

on the opposite end of the spectrum, dd'ing a Fit is easy.

a douch in a nice bimmer accelerates to cut himself off when i change lanes infront of him with plenty of room to spare. then the douch blows his horn, pulls in front, cuts me off, then brakes, then acclerates, and then appears to be thinking wat he could do next to annoy ... by that time im thinking, 'do you really think i care wat happens to this car?' the fool is on you buddy if you cause an accident.

never know if i might 'accidentally' press the throttle by mistake. wink wink. :icon17:

I used to drive a bimmer... that was before I had the 350z..

Look at the overall quality of the bimmer drivers in recent years....

I am glad I don't own one anymore.... :icon17::icon17:

mr.alcheng- the other day another person in a different bimmer was nice and let me in when utility truck suddenly decided to stop and cut off a lane.

i think bimmer folks are either real elite folks or losers that are weak inside but want to cover it up with fancy. :shakes head:

ms pint- usually wait a good day for base coat to dry before i apply clear. :)

give it 48hrs to be sure. then after you apply clear, dont touch it for 3wks minimum. you can wash the car, but try not to rub at it or anything.

I don't have any experience with the Trofeo specifically. Pirelli is a good brand, sometimes overpriced. Got a line on a good deal? You're going to need something stickier for the track aren't you?

Sorry to be the voice of doom here, but you need to find out if the paint the shop is using is water based or solvent based. The nail polish may not be the best thing to apply to water based paint.

You need to just take a deep breath and relax on this. Let the guys fix the paint before worrying about clearing it. If you are going to put clear bra over the spot anyway, you'll never that it was never clear coated.

When I painted the backings for my Z badges, I didn't clear them because I was applying clear bra to them.

They were a PERFECT match to the rest of the car.

Pint you've got way too much going for you to continually stress over these types of things and making yourself sick. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

I want to see a smiley face from you young lady! :icon17:
